"Well my experience has been very good, no mechanical issues. This car in general has been plagued with a bad engine knock sensor, my X is no different, this can cause a smog failure in states that smog. Now lets get to the good stuff, do you want to drive up a rocky mountain road meant for jeeps? search no further. The X-terra will go anywhere, I myself just drove to Canada and Alaska and back (11,000 miles) with no maintenance except for 1 oil change in Fairbanks. This car got me above the arctic circle. The gas is the only issue with the car, SHE IS THIRSTY. Expect 18-20 mpg hwy I was doing 16 mpg on the trip due to that she's lifted on 33's and a FULL roof rack. 4X4 3.3 v6 automatic. If your are thinking "I want to do cool stuff in my life" get this 4X4 SUV TODAY"
"Since this Xterra is built on the Frontier frame, it is understandable it handles like a small truck.
I am 5'8" I have no problem with egress/ingress. The tubular running board is more than adequate.
Interior is perfect. Exterior is almost perfect. The only modifications I have made is to add wind/rain window deflectors, tubular light protectors, and a locking gas cap.
Be sure to regularly change your in-cabin air filter. If ignored, it may cause problems cooling the cabin interior.
The gas mileage is not the best, but again it is a truck/suv not a prissy elevated station wagon.
Primary usage is in city/wilderness camping.
Well worth the money!"
Pros: "All purpose, car charger outlet in center console"

"I've had this car for just over and year and have put 20,000 miles on it including freeway and off-road driving. I had to camp for 2 months for work and I'm glad I had it. It gets a little squirrely on dirt roads in two wheel drive but if you put it in four it's great. The gas mileage isn't great. It's a good in between size SUV, larger than a Ford Escape/Explorer but smaller than a large SUV. Lots of costly repairs and hard to get to sensors needed replacing at around the 110k mile mark and I had to pay $200 to have the roof upholstery put back up. Overall I recommend this vehicle for somebody who needs it for many purposes but not an every day city traffic commuter car."
