Pros: "Very safe and reliable. A/C worked impeccably"
Cons: "Not the most stylish, lacks new features"

"My aunt bought this car brand new and passed it on to me in the beginning of 2015. In the short time I drove it, I packed on over 3,000 miles. The only non routine maintenance that ever needed to be performed on this car was replacing the belts and the computer which repeatedly displayed a check engine light when nothing was wrong (which made emission testing impassable). This past December, I was driving it by myself and was in a brutal accident. The car and I were airborne, nose-dove onto some grass, rolled down a hill, and was then t-boned in the driver's door by another driver going 70 on the highway. Thankfully despite the age of the car, all of the airbags went off and the seat belt caught me and I left the scene with only a fractured pelvis and sacrum. Thanks to this car's amazing safety features, I lived through an accident that should've killed me. Thank you Nissan."
"I bought this car from a good family friend so I know the car well. We drove this car till we wrecked it and bent the strut towers. Never once broke down. Ice cold AC. Lots of rust on the rockers but subframe was solid."
"I wanted a car without nonsense, one that would get me where I need to go, without fail. My brother-in-law picked the Sentra, and he was dead-on. It has had zero repairs -- it never fails. The cost per mile has been pennies. You will like this one."
"Reliable with work, this model has had cylinder head warp issues, which started at 36,000 miles (overheating), and had the head shaved and now I have 248,000 miles. Starts every time, great gas milage, 28mpg on the low end, 33/35mpg on the high. Great interior, lasted through hot TX sun. Rear window regulators went out, ABS plastic hubcaps cracked, (after 10 years), CD player died, other than that, this car is still running great. Going to rebuild the engine/tranny and run it for another 10 years."
"Original Owner - Has been a great first vehicle for my daughter and still looks and runs great. Recommend anyone purchasing a Nissan Sentra. Has been a great car and never worried about the vehicle when my daughter drove away to college."
Pros: "dependable in every way (maintain it well!)"
Cons: "all seats very uncomfy, limited back leg room"

"Dependable in every way! Maintain a new Nissan Sentra 1.8s very well and it will be your longtime friend! (Ignore routine yearly maintenance on any car and it will eventually ignore you)
Original owner and very happy with my car. Oil changes every 4k miles (at most) also do complete radiator flush once a year (not just gravity draining old fluid, that still leaves residue fluid deep within the cooling system to mix with the new fluid)
This fine 4 cylinder engine has good accelerating pop, you can get out into tighter traffic safely. City mileage is pretty much the expected 27 mpg, for long highway mileage I can get the expected 32-33 mpg per 13 gallon tankful (all this is still consistent after more than 9 years)
Automatic transmission is maintained once a year (no major work at all)and it the shifting still smooth and reliable.
The ride, especially on long trips, could be better. (I have found that high quality touring type tires help with this)
Cooling system is still original (well maintained radiator and original water pump, as sensible maintenance I have replaced the original hoses once so far)
oil pump, water pump fuel pump are all still original and working fine.
Original exhaust system, including muffler and tailpipe, have never given any problems yet. (exception: after 140k miles my service engine" light came and I need to replace the oxygen to fuel ration sensor cable, right in front easy access. total cost: $122)
Undercarriage: after 120k of my brutal city "stop and go" city type driving the front undercarriage started to need some help. As preventive maintenance I replaced both front out tie rods to the wheels (the originals never failed but reasonable wear was inevitable)
At the same time I also replace the original front shocks and struts, all of this helped with tire and suspension safety)
Gas mileage, even after 9 years, is still the expected 25-26 mpg in city, and 31-32 mpg with sensible speeds on long range interstate trips.
The body paint and finish is still very sheeny and sharp, showing some expected wear after so long but nothing unreasonable. No rust anywhere. Period! (see attached pic)
Interior has good leg in the front at the cost of less room in back. The trunk space is quit adequate for this size car.
The seats are bricks, all of them. The cup holders will not hold taller cups well as the tops are forced to lean out from the face or the radio console.
The sound system is basic but works well with 6 stereo speakers inside and a sub woofer in the trunk!
Maintain a high quality new car very well through the years and it will be your loyal friend!
For everything that my fine car has given me and still gives me and that I have given it, I couldn't be happier despite a one time need for more expensive undercarriage work that is inevitable in most cars after 100k miles. So it made sense for me to do it when needed and be with it.
I believe this car is completely capable of doing 150k miles all over again (or another 8+ dependable years of heavy use driving)
I hope that the new Sentras of today (2015) are just as well built as my old friend!
Rick B. 9/24/2015 original (and still) owner of this fine car."
