I own this car - My approximate mileage is 180,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "excellent reliability, good power, good handling."
Cons: "none so far after 20 years."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This has to be the most reliable and trouble free vehicle I've ever owned. I've only performed basic maintenance and the car is 20 years old and at just over 180000 miles. It's never been in the shop of an unscheduled mainetance and has never left me standed. Mostly oil changes and air filter changes with brakes, timing belt, and fluid flushes. Not a lot has been repaired or replaced. The GXE with the single overhead cam (SOHC) engine has great low end torque, decent, power and excellent economy to power ratio. I routinely get 27-28 MPG on mixed city/hiway driving on my daily 90 mile round trip commute. She's getting old, with paint fade and some minor interior electrical quirks (seatbelt chimes every now and then, but no other issues. Hard to let her go and get a newer car since I'm still very happy with the power, handling, peformance, and value of this commuter. I've had other cars while owning this Maxima, but those cars are long gone and I still have my Maxima. Cheap to maintain and cheap to run. Never lets me down. Get's me there in comfort and economically. what else can I ask of a car? In 20 years only changed: six sets of tires three sets of front and rear brakes three batteries three major tune ups with plugs, wires, cap/rotor. both front axels countless oil and filter and air filter changes. still on original shocks, alternater, and radiator. How's that for a 20year old with 180000 miles?!!"

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Mistakenly wanted a newer car - My approximate mileage is 283,000
Pros: "Great gas mileage, fun to drive, spacious interior"
Cons: "N/A"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I sold it because it was 13 years old and had almost 300,000 miles. It was at the age where a few major things needed to be replaced and I opted for a newer car instead of repair bills. In hindsight, I should have kept it. It was a v-6, drove like a dream and got great gas mileage, even in the mountains: 23/city 33/highway. I loved almost everything about it! I've had buyer's remorse since the day I bought a Honda Accord to replace it...and gotten 23 mpg/highway in a car I don't love."

"I actually own and drive this car. I Also bought A late model maxima for my sister based on My maxima's performance. P.S. This is a pretty fast car and The Faster You Drive The Quicker your gas burns in any car it's common sence."

"I own this car, bought her new in 1993. She has had no major issues, just regular replacement of things to be expected on a 17 year old car. She's reliable and I can't imagine life without her. She's never left me stranded and I've taken care of her. I'd be buried in her if I could!"
