"I have owned these trucks since they were 'Datsuns.' I have put over 200000 miles( at least ) on every one of them. The brakes did not need replacing 'till 80,000 mi. on the last two. My latest (2002) has 90,000 on it, and all I have done, as with all the trucks fron this company, is change the oil, tires, and other fluids as the schedule says to do. I have never needed a new battery either!! I use them as work trucks, overload them, tow boats and trailers, and even though I chose the 4 cyl., it has always done a superb job for me. My 1997 had 240,000 mi. on it when I gave it to my nephew, who drove it for three years before sonething finnally needed attention. The timing chain tentioner. I am born and bred an American, but every American truck I have owned can't hold a candle to the Nissan as far as longevaty is concerned. You give up a little in comfort, but I save 7 to 8 thousand dollars a year compared to a full sized eight cyl. American made truck when you figure in lower insurance rates, no break-downs, lower initial price, better gas mileage, etc. My father is a CPA and we have kept very good records over the years. At 51, I still chuckle when my friens with Ford Rangers and Chevy Blazers insult me over the Nissan. Then I give them a ride to pick their trucks up as they are breaking often once past 100,000 mi. If you are rich, this won't matter. If you buy a vehicle to work, and keep it untill it falls apart, you can't beat a Japaneese built and designed truck. My next one will probably out live me!! I spend the money I save on a new motorcycle every two years, and the truck kicks the energizer bunny's tail!!"
