"I have about 120K on this car and have had absolutely no problems with it mechanically or in the housing. There are a few design features I strongly dislike though: no rear winshield wipers, large blind spot on driver's side (the side view mirror does not give good coverage), and oddly, my headlamps burn out about every six months. I've had them rewired, new fuses, etc., at three different mechanics. Even bought expensive imported bulb.s No one can explain this problem."
Pros: "Fast, fun to drive when running correctly."
Cons: "Paint scratches easily, "repair hog""

"I bought this car in 2007 and loved how fun it was to drive at first. However, as soon as it had around 45k miles, it started falling apart...I'm now at 68,000 miles and have replaced just about every part in the engine, and find myself at the dealership on a monthly basis with $1,000-$2,500 repair bills! This car is a nightmare to own and never runs perfectly for very long - I'm so frustrated with it and can't wait to trade it in for a Lexus ES 350...I should have known that Nissan's reliability is terrible!"
"Design flaw is causing the floor boards to rust away. Passenger side already has a hole in the floor, driver side is weak and will likely have one soon.
Also, front passenger suspension is problematic and in need of repair. This car was driven like a baby and garage kept and shouldn't have any issues like this.
From the outside the car looks great! If you have one check underneath the front seating area and be sure yours isn't rusting away too. Google "Altima rusting floorboards" and you'll see what I mean."
"I love this car, despite a few glitches;
New engine at 153,000 mile, broken plastic clip for the hood prop up rod a few times, broken off door handle-cheap plastic.
But it remains very reliable and as I bought in in Jan. 2002 and still adore this car."
"I bought my Nissan in 2006 with 23 miles on it. I havent regretted owning my Nissan Altima at all!! She still looks as good as she did in 2006. Wear and tear, yes, but at over 112,000 miles on it, I think its good for a couple more one hundred thousand."
