"Purchased at a dealer August 2015, 126000 miles . Fast forward December 2015. 132000 miles.. Averaging 29-34 mpg city/hwy . Engine developed a miss a month after purchase. Replaced injector #2 and has ran well since. The trunk is roomy for a car of its class. Front legroom I will warn you is cramped for a 6 foot guy like me, with seat adjusted all the way back. Turning radius is comparable to my mother's 2001 Crown Victoria,Handling is decent, ride quality is a little harsh even with newly installed high end struts and suspension bushings. Despite those flaws, has strong and predictable acceleration and doesn't require periodic timing belt replacement; has a timing chain. . Mine has the 5 speed manual. Overall though, Nissan reliability, parts are still easy to find and inexpensive to maintain."
Cons: "some of the parts are no longer made by Nissan"

"Have my car since 2009 so for almost 7 years. Started out strong, needed to get an alignment. The past 2 years, I have sank too much money into this car, right now the more I fix the more other things are breaking. Replaced the motor and transmission of the windshield wipers last year, this has happened twice since Ive owned her, the clutch blew up, replaced the gas tank, the entire fuel pump assembly, the battery, alternator, electrical short, replaced the exhaust and muffler. The break lights keep going out as well as the driver side headlight. Right now, about to sell the car as I will not put anymore money into it. Remaining issues are oil leak, car randomly stalls while driving, A/C and Heat only work on level 4 and the car smells like gas after a fill up. Most of these repairs has happened in the last 2 years. When I first had her, drive with lots of power and a great overall drive."
"I have had minimal problems with this car, notably the distributor that also contains a sensor that when it fails will cause the car not to start.Learned the hard way that rebuilt distributors won't work 9/10 times! The parts have been very reasonable, and if you're mechanically inclined it's a fairly easy vehicle to work on.It's a good car to keep in the family and pass around with the reliability and cheap parts. The console design is definitely lacking, especially the cup holders. The trunk is huge."
"The Altima has been very costly for me to maintain as living in the desert tends to dry out bushings, hoses, cv boots, and motor mounts. Also, electrical components, alternator, distributor and starter will fail at high mileage. Tip: Go aftermarket anywhere else, but buy factory new or refurbished for electrical components. A/C going still strong. Overall, this car has been very reliable for city driving it's fun to drive, handles effectively, with fair to good MPG."
Cons: "Glove compartment small, cup holder blocks radio.."

"Got this car 11 years ago with only 26,000 miles and it now has over 160,000. Price from a private party was $7,000. It has a moon-roof and spoiler and was very stylish in the day. Only problem was I replaced the alternator 2x. Overall a great car that got worn down over the years and now it is time to move on. Nissan Altima's Rule!"
