for the 11 months ive enjoyed the car. great handeling and decent preformance. started to hear a strange vibrating noise and took it into a dealer the next morning. now with less then 40k miles on the car( im the 2nd owner, bought the car with 29k miles) ive been informed that the lower lifters are bad and i need a new short block for about $8000. the powertrain expired 2 weeks before this happened and so far, corperate isnt doing anything to help by extending the warentee or cover some of the cost. 4 of the 5 dealerships in my area couldnt even get me in to inspect the car for 2 weeks. i honestly dobt ill be buying another subaru.

I bought my 2006 Legacy sedan new off the lot. Very stylish, and handles great. The price was very good too for an AWD vehicle that holds its value. I did have several issues when it was fairly new. Between 30K and 40K miles, I had to have the entire dash removed to have the blower fan fixed; the stereo was replaced twice as it was having "ghost" electrical issues. It now has 72K on it, and I just found out that I need the rear right bearing assembly replaced and the headgasket has a leak, which I understand is super common for Subaru boxer engines. It's strange, but I've owned 8 different brands of cars, and this one is my favorite, but at the same time, it has given me a good share of issues. I would still buy another Subaru, but I hope that they address these problems since they seem to be ongoing over the years.

I have had my Legacy for almost 6 years and if or when I do trade it in it will be for another Legacy. I couldn't be more happy with this car. I live in Pgh PA and haven't come close to being stuck in the snow. The handling is just amazing on dry, wet or snowy roads. This is my first Subaru but it will not be my last.
