Pros: "Dependable; cup holder; A/C Heat"

Cons: "CD player"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Bought this car new, and its reliability is amazing. Outside of normal maintenance, only two trips into shop. Spouse will now get while newer vehicle for me. But difficult to find one I can depend on. Crazy as it sounds, the round A/C vents are the best feature ever. Smooth easy operation without the "oops stuck again" feature of the slide ones. Important when driving. CD player did go early on, but not a CD person anyway. To me, driving around with little ones, having a car start and go when I get in...dependable, that's what counts."

One of top 2 best cars I have ever owned!

Pros: "Handling, AWD, visibility, cargo capacity, styling"

Cons: "MPG could be better today, dealer network limited"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"This Mitsubishi Outlander with AWD, has been great. Reliable, comfortable both highway and city, lots of interior space, very flexible cargo capacity, small footprint, easy to handle, shorter length good for tight parking spaces. Not too high, not too low. Visibility on the road is excellent. Has not been expensive to maintain; very economical. MPG about 23 mpg avg. No major repair surprises, despite the high miles (90% highway). AWD is excellent on unpaved and winter roads, even deep snow, slush, ice. Interior is quite basic, but that may be good - don't have to be timid about loading it up. Dash controls are logical and easy. Wish they still made this body style."

"We bought our car when it was 18 months old. We have had no major issues, and we LOVE it! Would definitely buy another one when we are ready to upgrade, but hoping this lasts us at least a few more years as we don't want to part with it any time soon!"

Pros: "Instant responsiveness"

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love this automobile! Of all the cars I have driven; Ford, Chevrolet, Plymouth, Pontiac, BMW, this Mitsubishi is quick, responsive, and handles well in a pinch. It holds exactly 15 gallons of gasoline and gets about 19 miles to the gallon city driving and about 24 highway. If maintained according to schedule there should be no problems. I just had to say something because I cannot figure out why other reviewers would say it doesn't have power. My outlander has no hesitation at starts, stops, or acceleration on the open road."

Pros: "Reliability, handling, gas mileage, value"

Cons: "Plastics, headlight coverings, weird dead pedal"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"The wife conspired with a friend to have us purchase this car many years ago, and though I was basically against the idea, it was too good a deal to pass up. Nine years later, I have to confess it has been a much better vehicle than I could have imagined. We've put 140,000 of the 186,000 miles on it and it has been a trouble-free, reliable, and occasionally even fun mode of transportation. Yes, the interior is spartan and filled with hard plastics, but it has been very durable. Yes, it has all the power of a sack of hamsters, but it handles corners very well for what it is, lending a feeling of sportiness that is appreciated by me anyway. Yes, if you're over 6 feet tall you'll probably run yourself into the corner of the lift gate a time or twelve, but you should probably be paying more attention. We've averaged around 26 mpg, even with horrible 10% ethanol gas, so that's not too shabby either. The analog clock is fun. Classy! The only minor gripe I have is the frequency of brake jobs, although this is probably the wife's fault, not any inherent weakness of the car. The bottom line is, this would be an excellent used purchase, as I suspect it will go many more miles without serious issue, and I intend to find out as it transitions from my wife's daily driver to mine. Great little crossover."
