Pros: "Quiet ride, great 4wd"

Cons: "Fuel economy"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Bought my Montero Sport XLS about 3 months ago from a dealership. Been happy with it ever since. Ride is a little rough but hey, it's an SUV. Plenty of power when I need it and very quiet on the interstate and highway. The only bad thing I have to say about this vehicle... horrible gas mileage!! I'm currently getting around 11 to 12 MPG with city driving. Truthfully can't drive it on the interstates because of the low gearing paired with a 4 speed automatic transmission without overdrive kills fuel consumption. Overall though, highly impressed with the vehicle and the quality. I recommend this vehicle to anybody looking to buy one. You won't be disappointed!"

Great car for the price

"This 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport runs very well. Interior is in great shape. Engine runs like a top. Great acceleration. The exterior has a few dings and scratches. I've taken very good care of the car so it is in wonderful shape inside and drives great."

Pros: "built to last, very safe"

Cons: "Gas mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I've had this car for many, many years now- I've taken it on several road trips and driven in the city with it. It's up to 300,000 miles and still going strong! We keep up the maintenance on it, and the only real problem I've ever had was replacing the exhaust system, which is understandable considering how old the car is and how much I've used it. I always feel incredibly safe in this car and it's dependability makes up for the gas mileage. My friend just purchased a brand new Mitzubishi and she said she remembered how reliable and long-lasting my car is, she decided to buy a Mitzu herself."

Pros: "great in the snow! reliable!"

Cons: "bad gas mileage, no pick up"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I have maintained it regularly with oil changes, tune-ups, timing belt, water pump etc...only problem I have had is oil leaks. Had one so bad it flooded all of the spark plugs till it finally lost power. But other than that, it has never broken down and I have driven it 167,000 miles. Would not consider getting another suv except for the gas mileage. I drive a lot in the city and purchased this just before gas prices started to sky rocket. 12 to 14 miles per gallon in the city! its time for something else."
