The 2010 Mitsubishi Galant is given a new silver-painted mesh grille and more interior sound insulation. Anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control and stability control are now standard across the line, but the V6 model is dropped, leaving only the four-cylinder ES and SE trims.

New exterior styling includes a revised front end, new taillamp treatment and a new lineup consisting of four trims: ES, Sport Edition, Sport V6 and Ralliart. Four-cylinder models sold in California, Maine, New York, Vermont and Massachusetts qualify as Partial Zero-Emissions Vehicles (PZEV).

The GTS trim is dropped from the line with much of its standard content spread out to the DE and ES trims. Mitsubishi makes a tire-pressure-monitoring system standard on all models.

About Mitsubishi Galant

2012 marks the final year of production for the Galant mid-size sedan as Mitsubishi focuses on making smaller cars and more aggressive rivals such as Hyundai and Kia grab market share in this highly competitive segment. As 5-passenger mid-size sedans go, the Galant often takes a back seat to market leaders Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. Yet the car does offer some features as standard that others don't, such as an automatic transmission and keyless entry on ES models and navigation with a backup camera on SE versions. But the car trails competitors when it comes to engine choices, power rating, fuel economy and overall creature comforts.

"Great car for the money, I have the DE model - Runs great still handels well and the performance is still there. I changed the oil EVERY 3000 miles. Just starting the show some rust on the rear wheel well lips. Looking for a low mantenance car that is a nice size, here it is. I would buy another one. Glenn"

"2004 Galant LS 3.8L. Have had to replace brakes, oxygen sensor, and head lamp in rapid succession. Not very pleased. Car has good power and good gas mileage. Will probably drive it into the ground because the trade-in value is poor. 100,000 mile warranty does not transfer to new owner. Only 3/36 for used car buyer"

"Very safe car, side air bag saved my wife's life in a recent wreck we were involved in. Chev 1500 truck T-boned us and we both walked away with minor scratches and sore ribs. Thank you Mitsubishi from a grateful spouse."
