"I bought this car new once I started a family. Once we had a second kid we bought an SUV to haul them around and this became my daily commuter car. Its always had good pick-up-and-go despite running on regular gas instead of the premium recommended by the manufacturer. Plenty of amenities, cabin room, and trunk space. The ergonomics and the fit-and-finish of the interior is very good. Some small things have broken down: dash-lights are fading, and the cable for the trunk-release snapped. However, the guts of the engine is still strong. I'd have no hesitation to take this on a multi-state vacation."

"I bought mine pre-owned with 48k on it in 2006. Now, seven years later I still like my car and it doesn't owe me anything. Currently has 174k and I have replaced brakes, obviously tires, stabilizer bars, etc. and just recently part of the exhaust. I change the oil religiously between 3-5 thousand miles now with the new oils on the market but lean more towards 3000. I love my Mitsubishi but it is starting to rust a bit and have been looking around to buy something new. I don't see much that I like so I think that I am going to hang on to this one for awhile longer."

Cons: "They don't make this body style anymore!!!"

"I bought a 2003 galant with 208,000 miles on it on Jan 8, 2009, for $2500. it is now April 17, 2013 and I can tell you this has been the best car I have ever owned in terms of reliability. It now has 291,000 miles and I drive it 500-700 miles a week and it has never given me any problems. The only things I have done was change the oil every 3-5,000 miles, timing belt at 60,000 miles and flush the transmission at 60,000 miles along with other scheduled maintenance and this car runs like a champ. I love the design of the car in my opinion this was the last good looking galant made I guess that maybe why it was discontinued because if they had made an updated version similar to this body style I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Overall this is an excellent and reliable car as long as you stay on top of the regular maintenance you shouldn't have any problems. I plan on driving her until the wheels falls off."

"I have owned this car for just under 2 years now. It was the 3rd car I had in high school, and I thought the most stylish car I owned I at the time. I'm not much of a motorhead or car junkie, but this ride got real old real fast. I over paid for it in May 2011 from a Ford dealership at around $4000. It's decent for my daily commute to work which is about 10 miles each way, and good for doing local errands. However, I regularly drive on less than ideal road conditions, such as bumpy roads, wet roads, etc. This car obviously doesn't perform well on bad roads, especially in the winter with slick, snow covered or icy roads, even though I recently replaced all my tires. Also, the longest trip I took was a 6 hour drive from where I live to pittsburgh with 2 passengers. Very uncomfortable ride even though most the trip to and from pittsburgh was on the turnpike in october. I'd imagine small children wouldnt enjoy long commutes in this vehicle."
