"We (my wife and me) get this car(in 2004)with only 14,000 on the odometer, from a dealer in Virginia Beach, Va; and have been the best buy ever. With no mayor mechanical problems at all, only services items. Only mayor that we have;need to replaced the radiator (2)years ago.The car has an impressive handling on cold weather an on hot/wet as well. The AC/Heater work excellent during all these years,we are only the second owners of this vehicle.Tha radio still work excellent too,but the DVD player broke (3)years ago.The motor efficiency have been reduced for the wear and tear, but we still getting from 18 to 20 mpg(city).Of course we were very diligent with the basic car services and the 12,000,24,000 & 50,000 miles services (by the dealer). The car interiors handle almost everything, except for an area on the ceiling fabric that is loose for some years now.About other equipments;we have problems with the driver and driver passenger windows, need to replace the mechanism, easy fix.The OEM parts can still be find at a very reasonable prices (on the Internet). All the glass on the car are original."

Pros: "quick, maneuvers incredibly well, reliable"

"I bought this car in 2010 in California and it had 66,000 miles on it. It now has 146,000 miles on it and it still drives great. I have driven it everywhere and I drove it across country. I have used it for the past 4 years in upstate New York as well as driving back and forth to New York City so it has seen a lot of snow. It is speedy, zippy, and a smooth drive. I rented a brand new car in 2013 and the car I rented did not drive nearly as nicely as my own Galant. It just feels like a sports car. My only con would be that as I am tall I would like the front seat to go back a little further. And the seats are low so this car will not work so well if you have to drive the elderly around. Other than that I would recommend this car to anyone. I still love it."

Pros: "inexpensive"

Cons: "no leg room, poor gas mileage"

"After driving this car as a college student for over 2 years, this car will last but is not necessarily made for comfort. I'm 6'6" and I can say with confidence that this car was made for people under 6'. The car has practically no trade in value and mine does not kick into overdrive. so it runs at a 3000 RPMs on when going 60 down the road. I would not recommend this car."

Pros: "long lasting, has kept its good looks"

Cons: "under valued"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this car new and have driven it all of its 173000 miles. When first purchased I had some electrical problems that required repetitive trips to the dealer. However, once that was resolved, I have had no further concerns with this car. I still get compliments on its appearance and styling. A very comfortable car to drive, it is also fuel efficient. Other than routine maintenance such oil changes, tires, and brakes I have done nothing of consequence in keeping it running. I would hate to sell it for what the book values says as it is a much better car than that."

Pros: "great price, roomy, Bose system, sliding sun, V6"

Cons: "Black paint oxidated; had car repainted black."

"I bought a black 02' Galant GTZ brand new for $30K after trading in a 01' Cranberry Galant, and am original owner of GTZ and only driver of car. I keep car maintenance up and car runs really great. People under-estimate power that the GTZ carries, V6 engine and a fast-running car. Smooth ride, great Bose sound system, roomy passenger capacity, great tires and alloy wheels, deep trunk space. Never had any major problems out of car because I keep scheduled maintenance up. Love to highway drive with sliding sunroof open. Love that car, my Black Diamond as I call it!"

Pros: "Dependable, reliable, and superior performance"

Cons: "none"

"My Galant is named "Jenny" because the engine is still purring like a kitten. It has never failed me! EVER! It recently took me and my family and friends to Disneyland. The 23-valve power allows me to show-off at fast-starts, passing, and any acceleration contest. The cruise-control leads hills so well that the speed never changes. It's been paid for for many years and I keep it well maintained. The seats are comfortable for hours of driving (cloth). And the trunk-to-interior pass-thru allows me to haul lumber, flagpoles, and other long stuff most cars cannot. I put all 167,000 miles on it myself and will probably put another 200,000 on it! It is a dream-car and worth far, far more than $1000! To replace it would cost me over $28,000 ... so I won't do it!"
