Pros: "Fast, Beautiful, Fun"

Cons: "Bad Clearcoat"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Purchased in 2004 with 11,000 miles, car was practically new. In 2006-2007 the clear coat started fading and it went fast. The clear coat faded on every exterior surface that faced upward toward the sun and was "chipping" off rapidly.I live in Los Angeles, CA and the sun is brutal, long story short there is/was a Class Action Lawsuit against Mitsubishi for the paint job, this is my only complaint. I hardly changed the oil, first and only tuneup was at 170000 miles, clutch need replacing at 140000, the only time this vehicle failed on me. I only replaced the coolant twice. I commuted to work 55 miles round trip for 8 years straight. I am a horrible car owner but this beast kept rolling. Finally in 2013 I needed $2000 worth of attention. Till this day when I roll with the top down everyone looks, s3xy car! I will keep it till the end."

"I love this car. I only have 2 issues. I live in New England and wish that I have more of a season to have the top down. Have to keep it cleared off during snow. The other problem I have is where 3 of the spark plugs are located. The top end of the motor has to come off to reach them which results in a much higher cost for a tune up compared to the 4 cyl. I'd love to get a newer one but with the reliability of these cars, not many people are willing to part with them."

Pros: "Reliable, beautiful lines and fun to drive."

Cons: "Cannot think of any cons. Love this car!"

"Purchased this 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS in 2005 from original owner with 17,000 miles on it and in mint condition. I've been a very happy owner of this 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS. It's beautiful inside and out. Very sporty and fun to drive. Pearl white color exterior and beige leather interior. Very smooth 5-speed with very responsive and quick acceleration. Its independent suspension makes it fun and enjoyable for mountain driving. Extremely roomy in the back with folding back seats and hatchback. Have carried furniture, kids, dogs and even my 11-ft ocean kayak with it's kayak carrier in it with no problems. Have carpal tunnel, arthritis and tendonitis so I need to switch to an automatic transmission vehicle. In my opinion (have owned several European luxury sports cars as well), Mitsubishis and Mazdas are tops in beauty, performance and reliability. Recently drove long-distance from Colorado to California and it was very enjoyable and no mechanical problems whatsoever."
