Pros: "Decent handling for a stock car, comfortable ride"

Cons: "Turbo is too small from factory, noisy motor"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The turbo model is almost unbeatable, Stock motor handles over 500 HP all day long, Even with stock turbo you can turn up the boost to around 14 and get close to 225-250 WHP and beat stock V8's. Its amazing what this little motor can do. and still get 35 mpg highway once its tuned.. Fastest eclipse GST to date run at the top end of 6 seconds 1/4 mile... The BB rating is for people who dont know what this car & motor actually is.. in about a 100 mile radius from where i live you'd be VERY lucky to find one less then 5k USD"

Pros: "The best...."

Cons: "The car is so good it is hard to find rag top part"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"A 10 in both reliability and driving dynamics does not measure up to the actual values I would rate this vehicle. This car still drives like it did when I took it off the lot. .... It will move you out smartly when you put your foot into it....you better be hanging on with both hands. The only negative has been what every convertible suffers .....THE RAG TOP. As much fun as a convertible can be, the bottom line is you will eventually have to replace the top. So, 17 years later it finally needs a top and it seems difficult to find all the parts."

"I can say with confidence my car was one of Mitsubishi's best. I added a new turbo, a new engine management system, and she had 280 wheel HP when I finished. The engine and transmission handled like it was nothing. The car wasn't perfect, some of the trim started coming off a little prematurely, but mechanically this car was very reliable."

Pros: "Fast, fun, cheap."

Cons: "Cheap, plasticky, throws rods if pushed to hard."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"This is my second 2nd gen eclipse and instill love them. The exterior has some nice lines, the interior is a little bland and cheap but very functional. They get very good gas mileage and are decently quick and the convertible version is even better."

Good Car, High Maintenance

Pros: "Good fun, stylish car"

Cons: "Very High maintenance."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6

"I bought this car used 3 weeks ago. The pros: It is the base model, no turbo. As such, it is relatively fast. But the best part is the handling! It feels so pristine and precise. Such a fun drive! I can't get enough of driving it. It grips so hard! The weight distribution makes for some fun oversteer even thought this is a Fwd car. But the reason I initially bought it, is the looks. I have loved the look of this car ever since I was 11 years old. Now that I'm 22 and have the money, I had to buy one. The cons: This is very high maintenance. All of the belts have to be changed every 60,000 miles. I bought this at 119,500 so 2 weeks after purchase the check engine light came on and I ended up having to get my timing belt done. I had them change out the other belts while under there."

Pros: "really reliable"

Cons: "cosmetic problems due to wearing and tearing"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"I love my car. It does what it needs to do which is to get me from point A to B. It drives really well and is very reliable. Most of the problems I had with it are cosmetic i.e. broken car handle due to wearing, chipping paint job, etc, which are due to its age. It does leak which is a downer. However, most of the repairs I've had to do were inexpensive. I'm not really into cars that sit low and would prefer to have an SUV later on when I have the money but I'm happy with my eclipse for the time being."
