Pros: "Turbo, Styling, fuel eco for a 90's car with 200hp"

Cons: "Needs bigger brakes, Needs tiptronic shiftbox"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"Great car for the money! With a simple strut upgrade You can step right into Auto cross, or spend a few hundred on a turbo & fuel components and be running 400 awhp, smashing mustangs/vetts/camaros etc.. Very comforting ride, Love how the interior curves around and just feels very safe.. Do the maintenance BY THE BOOK. These are Turbo cars and if you even skimp them a little it will bite you. Taken care of, There's not a better car in my opinion."

Pros: "Reliable, fun and still gets good gas milage"

Cons: "It's 16 years old"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I've heard rumors that my car is one of seven in the world, by option packages - Sundance Plum Pearl, Black drop-top and black interior. And it is no more valuable than every other Eclipse Spyder. Mitsubishi is best known for electronics but they did very well mechanically as well. The electronics are so good that the car still has all it's factory light bulbs, now the Infinity Stereo failed but it wasn't made by Mitsubishi. Mechanically, only a few things have gone wrong, clutch slave cylinder, alternator, I replaced the struts because one was no longer seeping oil and the big one, A/C compressor. Now the sun is killing the interior and some of the paint. It's been a great car that is fun to drive (great corning and decent acceleration) and I still love it."

Pros: "Decent handling for a stock car, comfortable ride"

Cons: "Turbo is too small from factory, noisy motor"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The turbo model is almost unbeatable, Stock motor handles over 500 HP all day long, Even with stock turbo you can turn up the boost to around 14 and get close to 225-250 WHP and beat stock V8's. Its amazing what this little motor can do. and still get 35 mpg highway once its tuned.. Fastest eclipse GST to date run at the top end of 6 seconds 1/4 mile... The BB rating is for people who dont know what this car & motor actually is.. in about a 100 mile radius from where i live you'd be VERY lucky to find one less then 5k USD"

Pros: "The best...."

Cons: "The car is so good it is hard to find rag top part"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"A 10 in both reliability and driving dynamics does not measure up to the actual values I would rate this vehicle. This car still drives like it did when I took it off the lot. .... It will move you out smartly when you put your foot into it....you better be hanging on with both hands. The only negative has been what every convertible suffers .....THE RAG TOP. As much fun as a convertible can be, the bottom line is you will eventually have to replace the top. So, 17 years later it finally needs a top and it seems difficult to find all the parts."

"I can say with confidence my car was one of Mitsubishi's best. I added a new turbo, a new engine management system, and she had 280 wheel HP when I finished. The engine and transmission handled like it was nothing. The car wasn't perfect, some of the trim started coming off a little prematurely, but mechanically this car was very reliable."

Pros: "Fast, fun, cheap."

Cons: "Cheap, plasticky, throws rods if pushed to hard."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"This is my second 2nd gen eclipse and instill love them. The exterior has some nice lines, the interior is a little bland and cheap but very functional. They get very good gas mileage and are decently quick and the convertible version is even better."
