Pros: "good heated seats, sturdy body, good in snow"

Cons: ""everything" major goes wrong with them"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"I have dropped at least 10k into mine in the last 5 years. Never again. I have had to fix everything major in that car from Heli-coils put in from spark plugs blowing right out, Head Gaskets, Clutch(2), Power steering pumps(3), Timing belt, Steering shafts (2), to Alternators, ball joints every year, sway bar links every year, Tie Rods, engine coolant sensors(2), thermostat housings (2), radiator, hoses.....Just about everything has gone wrong, up to my door handles snapping off in the inside. I kept up with oil changes and babied that car but it did not matter. The only good things I can say about this car is The body held up great, no dents, no rust, the heated seats were awesome and it drove great through the snow when it was not in the shop. Also finding a mechanic to work on them was slim to none, closest dealer was a state away. Hitting a possum called for a new front bumper and radiator once....sad!"

Pros: "fun to drive"

Cons: "quality is poor and repairs too costly and often!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"Too Many repair issues that cost a lot of money. Always have a warranty of some kind as long as you own the car. Particularly clutch, transmission, convertible roof, water pump, run-flat tires. You will spend $3K a year! Cars is fun to drive, but don't break down too far from a limited dealership network...or else!"

Pros: "A blast to drive with a 5-speed. Fun to look at."

Cons: "Will likely need a clutch after 1000,000 miles."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"Driving a MINI is like driving a go kart. It is a blast! I own a convertible which doubles the fun. I can put my inflatable kayak in the back seat in a duffle bag. My car needed a new clutch at 100,000 miles. Not because of abuse. Clutch replacement is a big job and cost nearly a grand. My only complaint about the car is that it has no cruise control and is surprisingly difficult to maintain a steady speed with the accelerator. Oh, and it leaks in a car wash. I would not purchase a new one. Who needs Bluetooth exhaust? Too many bells and whistles for me. If I did't own a convertible I'd prefer a BMW."

Pros: "great gas mileage, handles well in snow"

Cons: "transmission problems"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6

"The only major problems I have with my Mini Cooper was the transmission problems. If you want to buy a Mini, get extended coverage after the 100,000 mile mark. the engine will run forever. No problems with the engine. I wish they would improve the transmission issues."

Cons: "Back seat is hard for my 65 puppy to get into now"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"This is a 2005 Mini Cooper S convertible, manual 6 speed with leather seats. So much fun to drive, top pulls back with in time for red light to Change to green. Has had consistent service, recently had spark plugs replaced Drives great, mostly driven freeway, but in town, up the coast . Has had following done: replace wishbone bracket and bushings, expansion tank, gasket pan replaced, exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe, oil pan gasket, tires . Has cup holder for front and rear seat, great sound system"

Pros: "Looks good"

Cons: "Too many reliability issues"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2

"I have owned this vehicle for about a year and a half now. Everytime i take it into the dealer for an oil change, they quote me about $10k worth of repairs that need to be done.. And issues keep coming up such as: Engine noise due to timing chain (which i have replaced 2 times in <40k miles Airbag light on and off for no reason whatsoever Dashboard just pops open and doesn't go back up Strut mounts crack and break Engine mount cracks Power Steering failure and the list goes on.... I am a die hard BMW fan and thought to invest in a MINI but stay away. I would much rather spend 2-3k more and get a decent older used 3 series. My second car is e90 335i and it is a beast in sheeps clothing. It puts a smile to my face everytime i see it. The cooper s convertible on the other hand...."
