Pros: "great gas mileage using regular gas."

Cons: "Bigger inside than you'd expect, but still small."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love this car! I am the original owner. Great gas mileage (34-36 mpg) on standard trans, not an "S" type. Great pickup. So fun to drive. It's good up to about 6" snow on the road and has great traction. it's quite heavy for its size. I haven't had any problems with carry space but it's really a 2 seater. It has only had one issue that was OEM - the sunroof leaked while parked outside at an airport for several days and I returned to a car with an inch of water on the drivers side. Replaced with no problem and no further issues."

Pros: "Fun to drive"

Cons: "Not reliable"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this used because I always wanted one. Where I live it is very hilly and most roads are 2 lane. I wanted this car for the power and handling. It is like driving a skate and I have to be careful to keep it under speed limit. I can pass anything I come up on in the very short passing zones. However it is expensive to maintain. Tires cost me $600 for 2, the air bag sensor keeps Coming on (a known problem with 2002) I have to unplug the radiator fan if I drive it in 90 degree weather to turn it off and not run the battery dead. The windshield cracked when I hit a pot hole and I had to hot wire the trunk release. Reliability is not its strong point :) but I bought it to drive and with the 6 speed and turbo going down country lanes knowing that yes you can make that curve so I am quite happy with it."

Pros: "Good gas mileage. Super fun to drive."

Cons: "Highway noise is the only "con" for me."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Great driving car. Has some road noise. Very responsive steering and braking and shifting up and down . Reminds me of driving a go-cart. Easy to get in and out of. Does well in north Idaho winter weather. Consistent 30 mpg and on trips I've gotten 32 mpg. Needs premium fuel. I run non alcohol premium. Never a problem finding a parking space big enough."

Going down Snake Alley in Burlington, Iowa on a Cooper Rally

"Love this car. This was a birthday present to me in 2002. I have the black checkered squares on the roof. Garage parked every night. Great mileage."

"This is a great vehicle aside from the CVT transmission. This particular tranny, built by PowerPunch of Belgium is a problematic piece of junk."

Cons: "Suspension rough with bad roads."

"I researched my car before I bought it. I used to run across parking lots to talk to a Mini owner! My standard question was, "Do you love your Mini? Do you REALLY love your Mini?" Every owner but one gave me a resounding "YES!" The one who didn't said, "I love the car but should have gotten manual instead of automatic." I was SOLD!!!!! I am the original owner, no accidents, no body work. Car was garage-kept. Red with black racing stripes, black top. Only drawback is the small back seat. My grand-kids are 12 and 14 now, and they are tall. Amazing how much space there is when the seats are down. Yes I REALLY LOVE my Mini."
