Pros: "good family car"

Cons: "not many cup holders, narrow trunk space"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Love this car so much. I bought it at 100,009 miles last year and I am now at 121k miles. Have not had any problems whatsoever for the last 21k miles except for the starter going at 120k. I love how spacious and comfortable the backseat is, plenty of room for 3 carseats. The trunk is huge, but it is hard to get stuff in it because of the narrow opening due to the thin back end. Easy to drive in the winter (I live in Wisconsin so that is a big deal) and decent on gas considering how solid the car is."

Pros: "Sunroof - Direction Navigator on rearview mirror"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"Purchased 2002 Mercury Sable LS from dealer in Aug. 2010. Car had one owner with original 36,000 miles now to 59,000 miles. Repairs thus far driver side door hinge broke, material pealing from inside door panels, water seeped in through vents on hood blowing out my fan motor so the repairs for my car have not been costly thus far. My particular model does have electrical issues at times but all in all I have had good luck with this car."

Pros: "Spacious, plenty of power"

Cons: "Heating element has burning smell"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6

"I'm typically a Honda or Toyota kinda guy. But I needed a car right away and ended up with this car. Not too shabby, as you could expect from American cars. There is plenty of room. I ended up with a check-engine light several times for the same issue which a local mechanic couldnt fix. However, the dealer found the root cause and fixed it. Generally, I am pretty pleased with the car. Lots of get up and go power, not too bad for gas mileage. I mean it is a 6 cylinder. The heater has a weird burning smell, which the dealer said is a common issue with this year/make model. Not always, but just whenever the car feels like it (I guess???)"

Pros: "Reliable, quiet, smooth drive."

Cons: "Awkward size, not the best fuel efficiency."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"Bought my 2005 Mercury Sable LS at 101,000 miles. Had it for 5 years, driving about 9,000 miles a year. It was very reliable. Needed a new battery shortly after I purchased it, but never had any engine issues. Had an infrequent check engine light problem due to the fuel pressure sensor, but that was a relatively easy fix. Very spacious inside. Quiet, smooth ride. Great for long trips. OK gas mileage. Has nice power (V6). Handles OK. A little obtrusive body, sometimes difficult to park. Paint wore out in the sun in the back above the bumper. Overall a nice car. Not luxurious, but not a tin can either. Would recommend to anyone looking for a family car or for someone who likes to go on extended trips."
