Pros: "Spacious, plenty of power"

Cons: "Heating element has burning smell"

"I'm typically a Honda or Toyota kinda guy. But I needed a car right away and ended up with this car. Not too shabby, as you could expect from American cars. There is plenty of room. I ended up with a check-engine light several times for the same issue which a local mechanic couldnt fix. However, the dealer found the root cause and fixed it. Generally, I am pretty pleased with the car. Lots of get up and go power, not too bad for gas mileage. I mean it is a 6 cylinder. The heater has a weird burning smell, which the dealer said is a common issue with this year/make model. Not always, but just whenever the car feels like it (I guess???)"

Pros: "Reliable, quiet, smooth drive."

Cons: "Awkward size, not the best fuel efficiency."

"Bought my 2005 Mercury Sable LS at 101,000 miles. Had it for 5 years, driving about 9,000 miles a year. It was very reliable. Needed a new battery shortly after I purchased it, but never had any engine issues. Had an infrequent check engine light problem due to the fuel pressure sensor, but that was a relatively easy fix. Very spacious inside. Quiet, smooth ride. Great for long trips. OK gas mileage. Has nice power (V6). Handles OK. A little obtrusive body, sometimes difficult to park. Paint wore out in the sun in the back above the bumper. Overall a nice car. Not luxurious, but not a tin can either. Would recommend to anyone looking for a family car or for someone who likes to go on extended trips."

"This has been one of the most reliable and economical cars I have ever owned. I put the pencil to what I paid used for this car vs miles driven. It came out to about 1.75 cents a mile. This did not include normal maintenance and repairs, however I do not think I had more repairs than the average car, in fact I would bet I had less. It currently has 334,000 miles and is still going strong. Sadly, I am considering upgrading because nothing lasts forever, but I will be sorry to see it go. LOVE THIS CAR!!"

"This car is used on a daily basis and performs exceedingly well. It has all the bells and whistles that were available at the time of the purchase in 2004. Very comfortable for those long 8 hour day long distance trips with plenty of room for people and baggage. It also has additional luggage space on top with a luggage rack."
