overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "I enjoy driving this wonderful car.Luv the 4 doors"

"I luv my Mountaineer. The hatch conveniently opens in a half or a full out position either one conveniently protecting me from the rain when I am loading/unloading items. This car is classified as a truck but to me it is a luxury car!! Since everyone wants to buy this one, I'm thinking about getting me another FORD SUV or FORD made car."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 81,000
overall rating 5 of 10rating detailsPros: "It is attractive, roomy, handles fairly well."
Cons: "See coments."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"Interior quality is a joke. Vanity mirror covers fall down. Visor mounts are cheap plastic that are broken and visors are inoperable and held up with wire. . It would cost over $200 just for parts. Seat storage compartment in 2nd seat defective, Seat covering defective. Seat belts do not retract. Back-up signal doesnt work. These are little things that you touch every time you get in the car. Plastic cover on tail gate has been split for years. If they cant get the little things right what about the expensive stuff that you feel every time you drive the "Lurch". You need a full time mechanic on staff to handle wheel bearing replacements, Drive Case and Transmission problems...front and rear. 6 bearings in 75,000 miles. It has AWD and is not free wheeling. You also need a banker for a buddy for repair bills. It's name is "Lurch", because of its extremely smooth acceleration. ha, ha, ha"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 140,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Great acceleration, quiet, seat very adjustable"
Cons: "gas mileage,"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Very reliable. Quieter than my last Mountaineer. I obviously liked my last Mountaineer because I bought another one when my first one got to about 150000. Gas mileage is as advertised. Excellent acceleration. The seat, peddles and steering wheel's multiple adjustments allow the driving position to be fine tuned to a driver's preferences. I have long arms and legs and some low back pain. I prefer to drive slightly reclined (not so far as to be in danger of sliding under the seat belt) and this car adapts to this very well. I've driven my wife's Lexus 330 and my Mountaineer on 1000 mile trips, all in one day, and the Mountaineer is more comfortable by the end of the day!"
