Pros: "Comfortable Interior, Elegant look, Good Handling."

Cons: "Eats gas, Not the greatest sound system"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Back in October I was looking to buy my first car.. after searching for about 1-2 months I came across a 2006 Black Mercury Montego with roughly 50,000 miles on it. From the first time I took this car for a test drive I feel in love with it. Very simple yet elegant exterior, however the Interior is what really sold me. It's incredibly spacious and the perfect car for road trips due to not only the amount of seating space but also it's vast amount of trunk space. I honestly could not ask for a nicer and more reliable first car than what my Montego already offers. It handles very nicely in the snow and I'm never worried about driving through bad weather (I live in New Jersey). If I had a few minor complaints my first would be the sound system isn't to great (but then again not bad) and It certainly isn't the most fuel efficient car on the market. Overall I love this car and am 100% happy with my purchase everyday."

"Console cup holders slightly inconvenient. Hard for driver to reach over console armrest and grip low on a cup, or over the passenger's cup if driver's is in front. This is the main reason for lowering the Comfort and Convenience rating. Road noise could be lower, but doesn't interfere with normal conversation or music listening."

"i bought my 2005 montego with 127,000mi april of 2013 and it ran great over the summer and i loved everything about this car, then the winter came and when it would hit 30 degrees or lower it wouldn't start, i would have to step on the gas to start it every morning before work. i replaced the alternator, fuel pump, battery, starter and spark plugs, and it did the same thing the next year. the engine light never came on or anything, ended up trading it in, also a gas guzzler"

"Poor paint. Had to get the hood repainted x2, now the quarter panel is bubbling. Fought with Ford since the first paint job the car was 2 yrs. old. They said water got under the paint from "rock chips". My cousin worked at Ford as a painter and he said it was a dirty prep. The same thing happened with his F150. Other than that love the interior and ride. Garage kept always."
