"Have had my 1995 Grand Marquis for approximately 1 year. Floats down the highway beautifully. Took a trip to Chicago and got 23.5 mpg, and thats going 75 on the highway and getting stuck in traffic. Driver side window regulator went out. Replaced rear brakes at 148000 miles (looks like this was the first time the rear brakes were done). Hardly any rust for an 18 yr. old vehicle. Surprising amount of power (I can see why they use these as police vehicles). Very reliable and plenty of space for me and my extremely tall family. Trunk is very, very spacious."

"Ok mile odometer stopped working @92,000 miles. Drivers window is the only one that works. passenger door needs window motor the back 2 need regulators. Car has leakey valve covers. Headlights will cut off on you while riding down the road.Car sucks down gas big time. Car rides great, handles great comfortable and spacious interior."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 155,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "quality, comfort, reliability, and value."
Cons: "power, only 210hp for heavy car, tire size."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"i have had this mercury quite awhile now,and i love itmuch more than i would have thought. a big comfortable, reliable car sort of grows on you. it handles great! even at this age (18yrs)everything works as it should. just had normal maint, have not actually "repaired" anything. says a lot for ford build quality. i really believe the full size cars have more reliability built in.you pay a penalty on fuel mileage, although i get 25+ highway mpg, around town drops to 16/17.all that weight. would like more oomph, and would like bigger rubber, but won't fit. oh well, can't have it all for 3g's."

Cons: "Big for some."

"My wife and I drove this car over 300000. About half of the miles were at 70+mph. At about 295000 fourth gear went out so my wife drove it in the remaining three. 21-23 mpg always. Big trunk. Room for three baby seats in back. She was involved in many scrapes but the car always won. consumer reports killed a fine car."
