2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class What's new for 2014?
2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The 2014 E-Class gains an exterior refresh and refinements to its interior, which lend it a more chic, contemporary feel compared to its somewhat stodgy predecessor. Sedan and wagon buyers now have a choice between two faces: a bold Sport version, with a more aggressively styled grille and aero package that is standard on coupe and convertible models, and a more conservative Luxury treatment with a traditional Mercedes-Benz 3-pointed star. For the first time, the E-Class also inherits safety features from the S-Class before the new flagship hits the market. Also new to the E-Class is a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel which debuts in July 2013, and uprated power for the E63 AMG version, which is now equipped with standard 4Matic all-wheel drive and two trim levels: standard and S. An E63 S version is also offered in the wagon body style.

Returning for 2011 is the E-Class Wagon; new are the V6- and V8-equipped Cabriolets, and the option of Mercedes' V6 BlueTec diesel engine in the E-Class Sedan. There have been minor exterior and interior design tweaks as well. The arrival of the Cabriolet and Wagon models expands the E-Class lineup. The BlueTec Diesel engine offers an option to an American market looking more and more for economy with luxury.

About Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the blue-chip standard for luxury sedans and coupes. Solid, reliable and sophisticated, this platform has delivered decades of satisfaction to buyers seeking a stalwart answer to trendy, style conscious alternatives from Audi, BMW, and Lexus. The redesigned 2014 model steps up with a host of new safety features, sensually styled sheet metal, and a choice of two front-end treatments to appease different folks with different strokes. Body styles for 2014 include coupe, convertible, sedan and wagon, with a lineup of engines from a modest 4-cylinder turbodiesel to an outrageously powerful AMG version. But most importantly, the newest E-Class stays true to its Mercedes-Benz roots by focusing on the brand's core values of safety, comfort and – especially in the case of the top dog E63 AMG – performance.

"In general like my E550 except for chronic issue with vibration on front end when braking with light to moderate pressure. Rotors replaced at 10,000 miles which fixed problem initially, but now doing it again so dealer is replacing front end bearings this time. I guess can just keep replacing stuff until warranty out, then I will trade it off. I would never want to own MB that is not in warranty at the price of the repairs. I like everything else about the car and did look at other manufacturers in class and felt this was best in its class."

Pros: "Not many coupes on the road so very unique"

Cons: "none"

This is the car my son picked out of all the ones we tested :)

"Just leased a 2012 E350 4-Matic Coupe. Wow do I love it! Was looking for a two door that could fit a family of four on occasion. Nothing but this car came close to meeting my needs. Not many on the road so it is unique. The interior blows away the 4 door E-Class. The rear seat dimensions are about the same as the 4 door. when the windows are down with no pillar the car is beautiful and has a look unlike anything on the road in this price range. It is a way better vehicle than the C-class I had before. Rides much smoother but I loved my 2010 C-Class too. As they say, Nothing compares to a Mercedez-Benz. The safety and technology is amazing. The 305 HP is plenty enough power too."
