"I love this car, I bought it in January and it is a fun summer car.It is a eye catcher, where ever you go, people will tell you how much they like your car. It suppose to get 23 mpg on the highway but I got 26 doing 75-79.
What I don't like about it is for a car that cost what it cost new, bluetooth phone and satelite radio should have been standard equipment. My tire sensors were fine with bad tires but when I put all new tires on them, I've had nothing but problems with them when there is nothing wrong. I come to the conclusion that this is a rich mans car and a average guy can't afford the maintance."
Cons: "way too high expense to repair and something always breaks down."

"Love this car, fun to drive and gets noticed by most. Very high maintinance with expensive parts. Every year something breaks and cost no less than $1500 for parts and service. Brakes = 1000 Power stearing pump= 2500 Air conditioner evaporator $1500 Just for a few reparis over the psst 2 years. I have yet to have a repair bill < 1000 and at least once a year. This is a summer car only!!"
Pros: "Really fun to drive -- but hard to keep under 100 mph"
Cons: "market value of the car went down way to fast for a car that's practically brand new."

"I am only disappointed with the current market value of the car -- it is practically brand new. Other then that, the car is the most fun anyone can can ask for. The only problem is keeping it under 100 mph. Stopping a traffic light has never been so much fun. When I take off, it's almost like the other at the light never move. SWEET!!! :)"
"Almost Every thing besides the drive train had been replaced. Sensores, covers , cupholders, buttons , controls, trunk hinges, seat controls, windows controls, radio A/C control, you name it malfunctioned or stoped working one way or another but the engine and the rest of the drive train nothing, never any problems with them, it has been four years since we purchased this vehicle for over $98,000.00 I guess we expectedit to last a little bit better"
"Beautiful car but buy a warranty and keep it. Batteries replaced 4 times, engine gaskets, leaks, glove box, locks, engine mounts, seat computers, windows always out of sync. This car is a rolling computer and something is always wrong with it even with regualr dealer service and low milage. It has alot of eletrical problems. i would buy this model again. Have had other Mercedes that were great for years. This is not one of them. Plan of 5k annual fixes plus routine maintenance."
"Bought my 2003 used in 2007 with only 7000 miles on the odometer for 1/2 the list price, and have driven it only sparingly since. Had multiple trips to the dealer for, of all things, the tire pressure monitor! They never did get that fixed, and now that the warranty is expired I find the little monitors are @ $300 each, and all four should be replaced. Also the strut that is supposed to hold the trunk lid upright now needs to be replaced. Having said that, the car overall is a pleasure to drive, and as good looking as they come!"
"I HAVE HAD MY PEWTER/STONE 2007 SL600 SINCE NEW AND HAVE ONLY HAD TO SERVICE IT TWICE IN 17,000 MILES. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS GONE WRONG WITH IT. IT HAS IT ALL, LOOKS, PERFORMANCE, QUALITY AND
FINE LEATHER SMELL. NO OTHER LUXURY SPORTS CAR COMES CLOSE TO THE BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR THIS CAR HAS. IT IS A TRUE HEAD TURNER WHEREVER I GO. I WILL NEVER PART WITH THIS CAR."
"The only late model used car I ever bought that jumped 10k in value 30 days after my purchase - values from kbb.com. The key - rarity, low miles and a CPO which is fully transferable to the next owner - a must have for these high end hand assembled MBs. Do I take the 10k or keep the car? Never had a ride like it - I'll keep it for now and drive it sparingly."
"Got an '07 SL 550 on 4/30/10. Recent cars have been an '09 Mustang GT, and an '05 Corvette. The Mercedes is the best looking and most refined car that I have ever driven. It handles better than the Corvette. Not the brute power of the Vette, but much more refined, and the quality of materials, engineering, and workmanship is top notch. Love the rain sensing wipers, and the air suspension. It even has a spare tire (I hated that the Vette had none)."
"I have owned more than a dozen MB products over the years and certainly they had their problems in the late 80's and early 90's. The latest S and SL class cars are light years ahead in quality and reliability. This SL55 is substantially better than even the earlier example of the lesser powered brother of just 3 years ago. Pricey but always a thrill to drive!"
