"Stand it front of it, look at it and let it whisper you "wanna ride?" This vehicle has more practical sophistication than anything else in the market of similar year. More room that you know what to do with. Tie downs, cargo net, valuables cover, etc. Ride is solid and commanding. Headed for a cul-de-sac doing 35, turn the wheel and it turned responsibly with no signs of slipping, wagging, or excessive tilting. This V6 engine is adequately powerful to its class design and to the needs of our family. Is smooth when just cruising but if you step-on-it can turn into a tiger chasing a prey. It can seat 7 belted passengers and room for some other stuff. We are very grateful to the full size spare tire. No funny toy wheel to "Get-Off-The Freeway-and-park". We continued our trek without funny-wheel speed and distance limitations. This car surely feels solid and nimble, heavy but 29mpg on the highway. Speeds between 65-85 don't seem to affect mileage. Normally my spouse gets 22-23 mpg and I get 24-25 mixed driving. This car in now 6 years old and people still take it for new. We've lost the rear plates ergo is taken for new. Beautiful sound surrounds the interior through our Bose system and is nicely tuned for all around listening styles, including talk shows. Otherwise, it is quiet inside. We have a Japanese car in our arsenal and there is a noticeable difference when you pull in anywhere in the other car. When you pull in a MB you are treated as Mr. so and so. You matter, your businesses are seen as important, whether you are buying, consulting or selling. I did not set this up; it is commonly found human behavior. You experience that reaction when you are on a Mercedes. That's why I say: Either you got a Mercedes, or you ain't got it! Claude."

"The 300TD is an excellent long trip warrior. If you can keep your foot off the pedal you can expect up to 36mpg with ease. And if your cruise at 75 you should get right at 30mpg unless you are in changing elevations. Very comfortable even on cross-country trips. Acceleration is superb, just light touch the pedal and you're cruising pass all those slow pokes."

"I have owned seven (7) Mercedes of various models, including three (3) "E Class" cars. My current 2002 E320 is a perfect example of how these cars have declined and are continuing to decline in quality, reliability and value. Although much like many other vehicles of its age, a large percentage of the car is made with plastic, however, for the price point that a Mercedes represents, you would hope to find the use of a better quality material. As a result, most plastic items have broken. The shocking outcome was to find that the cost of the replacement parts were astronomical, even though it was merely plastic. The vehicle currently has approximately 65,000 miles, however, given the amount of items that are either broken or have already been replaced on the vehicle, you would think it had over 200,000 miles. The list of replacement items is as follows: Transmission Rebuilt due to slipping A/C Compressor A/C Receiver Dryer Motor Mounts Blower Motor Regulator All Catalytic Converters (4) Both Visor Mirror Doors Drivers Seat Frame Antenna for the Radio/Navigation System Cup Holder in Console Drive Train Flex Disc Brake Discs on All Four Wheels (Pads I would expect.) Glove Box Door Tail Light Bulb Mounts both sides And so on…. and so on…. To me Mercedes no longer stands for quality and dependability. What they are producing in my opinion are vehicles that represent “Less for More”. Never again will I buy one of these cars!!!!"

"For the money this vehicle has been great. 33MPG The best ride. Have driven Lexus, Cadillac, and Lincoln. This car out handles and rides better than the others. Low maintenance costs. Other than replacing some injector return lines and the brakes this car has been inexpensive to operate. 130K and no rattles or wind noise."
