Pros: "Comfortable seats and handles great in the snow."

Cons: "It doesn't have a heated steering wheel."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"We bought this car used when it was 6 years old and had 80000 miles on it. We have one child and the car has been terrific. Yeah, the repairs aren't cheap but we have a great mechanic whose hourly rate is half what the dealer charges. We are likely to drive this until the wheels fall off."

Pros: "Performance, fun to drive"

Cons: "Deterioration, maintenance costs"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 5

"Bought this car used with 99000 Mi on the odometer. It is a blast to drive specially at really high speeds. Cornering is insane. The car is comfortable and very well equipped. Drawback is maintenance. I went through a set of tires in one year, brake pads in 2, I replaced most of the front suspension and all tie rods reestablishing the fun to drive factor. All parts are expensive, you need a computer to fix most items. The interior looks like a much older car, faded panels everywhere, headliner coming unglued, door handles beyond repair. I was disappointed with the resale, it dropped like any other car."

Pros: "Rear wheel drive, luxurious, e85, mercedes glamour"

Cons: "Expensive service if you re not car-savvy"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"The car is amazing as long as you can maintain it yourself. Transmission flushes cost a lot of $$$, and need to be done every 40k miles. There are two main problems with these cars: Balance shaft issues Transmission valve issues Check the cars for these issues to see if they have been fixed, or if they are out of the affected range. Other than that, they are reliable, comfortable, nice cars."

Pros: "Comfortable, good trunk area capacity"

Cons: "Rust bucket"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"The 1989 TD was an awesome car until it got too expensive to keep fixing; I'd just spent like $4,000 on repairs & front sway bar broke so had to stick in $2,000 more just to get rid of it for a $1,500 trade in to the dealer for the 240c class that had been my loaner. The C class had heated seats, cup holders & CD player, very comfortable, handled well except terrible on ice (got stuck at least 3 times) . Extensive rust on body; dealership repaired rust on all 4 doors a year or so after I bought it, and I've had regular maintenance & bodywork done since, but car is a rust bucket anyway."

Pros: "Reliable, comfortable"

Cons: "A little too low to the ground"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"We've owned everything from GM, Ford, BMW, Volvo, Mazda, Toyota, and Nissan. This little C-Class Mercedes is by far the best of the bunch. So much that when we needed to replace our other car we turned to Mercedes. My 2007 C-Class starts first time every time and still drives and rides like a new car. None of the others drove and rode like a new car after the first 2-3 years. We cannot comment regarding the BMW because we didn't have it long enough. We traded it on the second Mercedes two years into it. In eight years we have had to replace one ignition coil and have the sun roof track repaired. Other than routine maintenance, that's it. No leaks, nothing. Highly recommended."

"Moved from an Acura Legend to a C280 and it was a great upgrade. Road noise and ride comfort are my favorite aspects. Average cost of ownership and fuel economy."
