"I have thoroughly enjoyed this SUV! Saw it advertised inside a mall, it was love at first sight! I had been looking & this vehicle suited my needs, plus it was classy. Mazda makes a great product. I'm still in love some 283K miles later! Would own another, no doubt."
Pros: "feel safe, great road visibility, great interior"
Cons: "alternater problem only negative with 197,000 mile"

"I bought this car used with 168,000 miles on it --body, paint, interior, all in great shape except leather seat on drivers side crinkled but does not detract from overall appearance. It is a great looking vehicle inside and out-has some rust on interior side doors in back, but not visible with doors closed.
Unfortunately I have had 3 alternators replaced--they cant diagnose reason for failures--otherwise I would keep this vehicle until it falls apart!!!"
Cons: "Could have better materials in the interior"

"We bought our V6 Tribute new and it's been a very reliable vehicle the entire time we've had it. Only put in money for regular oil and fluid changes, a new battery and oil and air filters.
Probably one of the most reliable cars we've ever had. I'm sort of sad we sold it; as the costs to insure and license it were very low."
"My Tribute has been an amazingly good car, I had another car so used it just for personal stuff but got rid of other vehicle and started using my Tribute for everything and it has been great! I need a really reliable car as I am flying solo and know nothing about fixing or repairing cars. I put about $2000 into my Tribute in the last year or so and have decided it is time to replace her!"
"I have been the proud owner of a 2002 Mazda Tribute ES-V-6 purchased new for going on 13.5 years now. Regular maintenance (3-4K oil/filter, battery, brakes, tires) and a new A/C compressor and electric main door switch in 2014 are the only issues ever encountered. I've lived in the north and south with it and used the handy 4 wheel drive when needed but this medium-sized SUV can hold the road on rainy slick highways as well using front 2 wheel drive. Too bad they don't make the Tribute any more (built on Ford Escape footprint in 2002) but I wouldn't hesitate to pick one of these up used if it's been treated well! Great car I plan to keep for many years to come!"
