Pros: "Good value-lasted 12 years before any major probs."

Cons: "Seatbelts had issues - but dealer fixed."

"This car has gotten me up hills and through storms that was affecting other high profile cars. She had no major mechanical problems until after she hit 100K miles and even then it was my fault for not noticing earlier. The seats are comfortable, the trunk is HUGE and the maneuverability is vast. If I had the chance to get another one, I sure would."

Pros: "Fun to drive and fast to drive"

Cons: "Can't get parts and bad placement of cup holder"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The Mazda MX-3 92 is a good car. It has things that are great to things that aren't so great. The car is very low to the ground but than that comes in handy when going around conners with some speed with it. One thing I'm not so happy about is the placement of the cup holder. It is right where your elbow hits when you shift the car there is only 1 cup holder for the whole car. My car has close to 193,000 miles and she is running really good but if anything goes out no Mazda's near me can get any parts for her. Hopefully nothing goes out."

Pros: "Fun to drive, 30 mpg, power everything, plenty of room for cargo"

Cons: "parts are hard to find, sluggish when driven normally, no cup holders"

"I have owned a 1992 Mazda MX-3 GS 5 speed for 6 years now. I bought it from a kid at 207,000 miles and it is just about to roll over 250,000 miles. When I purchased it the kid said they changed the oil and put a new clutch in. Everything else was as it came from Mazda. Since then I have replaced , all the exhaust, o2 sensors, air intake tube, fuel pressure regulator, serpentine belt tensioner and pulleys, distributor, altenator, vacuum lines, slave cylinder, so on so on but I do not hold it against the car. Who knows who owned it prior and drove it hard or didn't maintain it (it is 20 years old after all). It is the only car I have owned that I can say I got my money out of it. The funny thing is, the previous owner contacted me and said he would like to buy the car back!! I would continue to drive this until the wheels fall off but I am at the stage in my life where I am ready to move onto a larger 4 door type car. All in all it has been a good 6 years with this car!!"

Pros: "Awesome car, fun to drive, reliable, great gas mileage"

Cons: "Difficult to get in and out of in my old age"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I'm the proud owner of a '94 MX-3 5-speed and buying it was the best decision I've ever made! I got it used with 33,000 miles on it...15 years and 137,000 miles later and it's still going strong. The only "major" repair so far has been a clutch replacement. Still handles like a dream and is fun to drive. And even at 17, it doesn't look outdated like a lot of older cars tend to. As if all that's not enough, it's a TANK in snow and ice. I drive it instead of my Xterra (which has to be in 4x4 to get anywhere in bad road conditions) in the winter. Ironic, ain't it? It's never had a problem passing emissions testing either. I've been thinking of selling it, but the more I write about it, the more I think I may keep it and drive it 'til the tires fall off."
