I own this car - My approximate mileage is 203,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "cheap, not too hard to find, reliable, everything!"
Cons: "the automatic transmission if you have one."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I bought this car 4 years ago with about 132000 miles on it. I am a certified mechanic and knew it would be a good car. I paid $2000 for it and got my money’s worth several times over. I am squeezing nearly 40mpg out of it and currently have nearly 203000 miles on it. It runs and drives like new. If you come across one of these for sale I highly recommend buying it if it is a 5 speed. If it is automatic I would strongly suggest against it. This is a flawless car except for the automatic transmission. Mine is nearly 17 years old and I drive it nearly 180 miles a day. It has power everything and it all works. It even has a factory CD player and oscillating vents; they still work too. This car runs smooth, drives great, is comfortable to be in, and gets great gas millage. I love this car despite its slightly less than attractive appearance and will drive it until it dies; which I know will be a long time from now."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 216,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Reliable, comfortable, roomy."
Cons: "Odd locking system, underpowered windows."

"I bought this car brand new, in the summer of 1997. I loved the styling on it then and still do. Looks every bit as good as anything on the road today. It has served me well as my daily car for 15 years, getting solid mileage (31mpg), being exceptionally reliable and is a very comfortable, fun car to drive. We love Mazdas and my wife is currently driving a 2009 Mazda 5, we've had great luck. Mazda, best kept secret in America!"

I owned and sold this car
Reason: Air Conditioner broke for second time - My approximate mileage is 245,000
Pros: "Durability, fun to drive (5 speed); Great value"
Cons: "None."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"I bought my 1993 626 DX brand new. Drove it 245000 miles on the original clutch. Was just a great car to have. After the air conditioning went out for the second time, and having a longer commute, decided to trade it in. Two years later, I saw the same car back at the same lot with another 15,000 miles and were asking what they had given me. Seriously thought about buying it back, but by this time, I had too many kids anyway."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 180,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "See Review."
Cons: "Can't think of any."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Bought this car with 140000 mile on it. I had to replace bad valve cover gaskets, otherwise all other work done to vehicle has been normal wear. The ES has a "swing" feature for the center dash blower vents so that air conditioning blows back and forth instead of a fixed position wich is really nice. I have 180000 miles on it now and still runs strong. Very minor rust, a little under the hood by the hinge on front quarter panels. Overall it has been the most reliable car I've owened, all electronics work..seats, moonroof, remote lock antitheft, mirrors, etc. Looking for a second car soon and Mazda is on the top of my list."
