I own this car - My approximate mileage is 77,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "EASY AND FUN TO DRIVE, ATTRACTIVE LOOKING & ROOMY"
Cons: "USES MORE GAS THAN A SMALLER CAR BUT WELL WORTH IT"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"POWERFUL ENGINE.ROOMY, HUGE TRUNK, GREAT RIDE GOOD GAS MILEAGE CONSIDERING ITS YEAR AND ONLY HAS 77,000 ACTUAL MILES. IF I WERE NOT SELLING I WOULD INVEST IN 4 NEW TIRES, REFINISH THE HOOD AND RESECURE THE HEADLINER IN THE REAR. I BELIEVE THAT THIS CAR WOULD BE APPRECIATED BY ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND THAT IT IS BEING OFFERED AT A FAIR PRICE."

"I absolutely love my 93 Lincoln Towncar "Madeline" :) She's an Executive with white exterior and beautiful red leather interior. Most comfortable car you will ever have I promise! I've driven her recently to the Grand Canyon from LA and back twice in a year and there's no problems whatsoever. She runs so quiet, sometimes people think she isn't on and that's insane for a car with this many miles. I believe the 4.6 L engine is the best Ford has made. I'm certain I will get her up to at least 400,000 miles easily. They require little maintenance. Like one post mentions, you only need to put in a quart of oil every 1,000 miles, but that's understandable with as many miles I have on mine. I can take her up to 110 mph on the freeway, and she still rides smooth. As a drummer, I can fit my whole 5 piece kit and hardware all in the trunk. Amazing space that you won't find in even the new towncars or any luxury sedan for that matter. If you're a smoker like myself or need extra car chargers, she's equipped with 3. 1 up front and 2 in the back in each door. You will never ever find that in any new car. The only small con you might find is if yours has air suspension, then over time, the bags will go out. Luckily mine was already converted to coil springs, but it's honestly no less comfortable. I have the opportunity to buy new cars, but I refuse to simply because this is the best. You couldn't pay me top dollar to sell it. I've put good money into mine. Rebuilt the front suspension, had all gaskets replaced and I recommend getting new injectors if you really want to keep it cherry like mine. Overall, it's in my opinion the absolute best. Buy one immediately if you're looking for a safe and solid cruising car with the best luxuries and comfort. If you're looking for a race car, you shouldn't even be reading this because these beautiful boats aren't made for that. Enjoy!! ;)"

"Bought this from neighbors estate sale. He had it since 04/22000 miles. It was his baby. It rides and drives like a dream. I feel 'regal' driving it too. No regrets in my purchase."

"I've had many full size Ford, Mercury and Lincolns and while it took me a while to warm up to the style, it is the best car I ever owned. So sorry they quit making them! Note that the newer Lincolns (post 1998 - the fully rounded ones - also out of print) are not the real McCoy. They have traction control (bad) and are too small (the doors poke you!) Would, but can't recommend this car since it is SOOO old..."

"This is the 3rd "second generation" town car I've own. My two previous TC's were a '92 and a '94 respectively. I've owned two 300 series Mercedes in between. What a world of difference between to two brands. Whereas the Mercedes is made for functional driving the town car is made for luxury driving. I enjoy driving the Lincoln on a straight up comparison of the two brands. Leather seats in both units --- bench seats in the TC versus buckets in the Benz. I just finished a 900 mile trip in the Lincoln and enjoyed just over 25 mpg! I get 27 mpg in the Mercedes and it uses premium gas! For being such a large, spacious auto the Lincoln is surprisingly agile. I miss a factory CD in the Lincoln --- but there are always aftermarket sounds. An instant way to improve handling is investing in new front struts and rear shocks. Monroe shocks are designed for a perfect fit and make for a marked improvement in both ride and handling. The rear air ride suspension can be prone to leaks, but is not as costly a repairs as it once was. I've always owned TC's which were previously had owners who took car of their cars. It is a big help knowing the vehicle history as it will spare. The 1997 town car is a great car in my book."

"I found this car less than a mile from my home a little over a year ago. The owner inherited it when her father died. He had a 97 Cadillac Deville and this 95 Towncar. I looked both of them over, and found the Lincoln to be in better overall condition. I asked to start it up and listen to it, and was told it didn't run. I put some jumper cables on it, and found it wouldn't start. I gave it a shot of ether, and it fired right up, and then quit. I realized that it wasn't getting fuel, so I switched the air conditioner relay with the fuel pump relay and it started up and ran great!! I offered them 2000 for it (they were asking 3000), and we settled on 2300. I have put less than 1000 dollars into it to correct some neglected maintenance issues(front suspension parts) as well as new tires and shocks. It cleaned up like a new penny, and is in such nice condition, it is almost like having a new car. I will keep it forever, I love how it drives and how it feels on the road."
