I own this car - My approximate mileage is 160,000
overall rating 3 of 10rating detailsPros: "Comfortable, good towing characteristics"
Cons: "Frame Rotted Out after 12 yrs - SHOULD NOT HAPPEN!"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"I leased my Navigator in Sept 2000. After the lease was up I bought out the lease and took out a short term loan to finish paying it off. It was fairly reliable during most of its lifetime. The notable exception are: 1) Right front tie rod broke about at roughly 60k miles. I was 40 miles from home. Fixed under warranty and I had a loaner car. 2) Left front tie rod broke around 85k miles - I was about 8 miles from home. Also under warranty (I had the 100k mile waranty) 3) Transmission went about a year after the warranty was over (it was about 7 or 8 years old) - cost $2500. Other than that it was a pretty solid performer until... just recently my son said that it had some issues. At one point he lost the brakes and had to have it towed. Yes, the brake lines were gone but as they put it up on the lift, they said the ENTIRE FRAME WAS ROTTED OUT. A 12.5 year old vehicle with the FRAME 100% ROTTED OUT !!! Can you imagine that? I called Lincoln - they were apologetic but would do NOTHING. So I'm going to haul it home and put a HUGE SIGN about it warning people about this!!!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 140,500
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Comfort, safety, smooth ride, roomy"
Cons: "Gas millege"

"Great vehicle. Have 140000 miles on it and still rides great. Only two repairs in the 10.5 years I've owned it. The air suspension went out 6 months after we got it- it was repaired and no problems since. And a tierod needed replacing. Like the older styling better but still an excellent car!"

I owned and sold this car
Reason: No longer needed with kids all grown up :-) - My approximate mileage is 98,000
Pros: "Beautiful styling...STILL and luxury ride!"
Cons: "Gas :-("
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I purchased this car brand new in 1999, but got the 2000 year model. I had it until I finally sold in 2010, so 11 year ownership!!! There's a reason for that folks...awesome ride! I loved this car and still do when I see them on the road it brings back fond mememories. It had minimal things that had to be fixed and I know someone who is still driving theirs with 400k+ MILES!!!! As for the reviews that are talking about the '98 models, well everyone knows you don't buy the first model year of a car's existence! I can't speak for that year but by 2000 the kinks were worked out! I would buy it again if I needed the room. By the time I sold it, I was the only one in it 90% of the time and that's just a waste of a fantastic ride!! Enjoy the car. You take care of it, and it will take care of you!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 135,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Feel like a millionaire from the luxorious ride"
Cons: "Fuel Economy"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have owned my 2001 Navigator for about 7 years. With the exception of the low MPG... I absolutely love it. I would use it as my daily driver, but a long commute, low MPG and fuel prices at a all time high... I simply cannot afford to. It has been amazingly reliable. Here is a list of the significant parts that have been replaced: both rear control arms, DPFE sensor, Battery 2x's, Parking assist sensor, Multifunction switch"

I owned and sold this car
Reason: bad suspension, horrible gas mileage - My approximate mileage is 110,000

"the 98 model I owned was the biggest selling year for the Navigator, they sold 43,859 SUV's and ever since its been down hill from then, in 2011 they only sold 8,018 SUV's! Thats why you dont really see em around any more. Actions speak loder than words folks, and the people have spoken ;)"
