"This has been the best car I have owned!! When you drive this car it feels like you are driving a newer luxury car. The car is very smooth and the driving experience is unique. This car should be considered a collectible and should be worth much more than it is right now. There is not many cars like this one around and I always get compliments for the looks of my car!!"
"Our 98 Sc300 has been in the family since about 2005, and has been a splendid car. It has required almost no maintenance outside of fluids and the like, and still drives "like new" in almost every regard. Every electric gizmo still works. The list of issues is very short, like struts on the trunk needing replacing, and a few backlights on the radio going out. The engine is very smooth and the transmission is only just beginning to show its age. The factory white paint is very high quality and looks almost new. The interior is NOT roomy, although you can cram 4, 5'10 tall individuals in for short journeys. The driving position is very comfortable, the seats are quite nice although could be a tad more supportive laterally,
The styling is arguably timeless. It looks great, or even better, than most brand new cars, IMO. It has almost concept car levels of attractiveness. yet it's a reliable Toyota product at heart. I get 20+ city and 26+ highway with conservative, gentle driving, which is how I drive 99% of the time anyway.
It's like a Mercedes SL, except it actually runs and works as intended."
"I've owned many vehicles in my life time, I'm 70, nothing can compare with the beauty and quality of this Lexus.
It only has 38000 miles and has been taken care of by an elderly person all its life.
It literally still looks like new."
"I've owned my SC400 since its delivery new in June 1995, with "champagne-beige metallic paint" and a beige interior. In 20 years, I have had virtually no mechanical problems with this car and it looks and drives like brand new. Very quiet with excellent handling and fast acceleration. Everything is original including mufflers, cat converter, hoses, and even the headlights. It's always a joy to see it and to drive it. While I've carried three adult passengers, it's really a 2-seater.
My only complaints are:
* With my height (6'4"), my right knee rubs against the hand brake. That can get painful after a few hours, so I use a cushion.
* Because it is a low vehicle, getting in and out is a little like doing the limbo.
* The only failures: both external power rear-view mirrors have stopped working. May be a blown fuse, haven't been able to find it yet. Could cost $1000 to fix with OEM mirrors. Power antenna replaced about 10 years ago. No problems with the engine and drive train.
I am happy to own and drive this fantastic vehicle. It could run for another 10 years, at least. As I said in the title, it's the best car I've ever owned."
