"I have owned this car for ten years. Wonderful ride. You can spend hours traveling and suffer no fatigue. excellent engine and transmission. Heated seats are ech.
Radio display is some sort of liquid crystal and have replace twice if you want to know what you are listening to. Repairs are very costly at Lexus dealerships."
"this is my second 98 LS400 I have owned, I have owned many cars in my life, and I mean 30 and up from hondas all the way to mercedes of any year. I will put my head on that this is the best vehicle I have ever owned driven, or test driven. this is the only car I know (and I know a couple of things about cars) that has a V8 4.0 engine and does 30 MPG on the highway. this is the only car that I can say will put reliability, great mpg (for a big car) elegance, driving experience, quality all in the same bucket. just an amazing car, so amazing that I kicked myself for selling my first one, and went ahead and invested on a low mileage one and intend to keep it."
Cons: "cup holder too small for larger cups these days"

"Excellent car in every way. The quality of the ride is still great. Everything still works. Maintenance little higher than the average but I haven't had to replace a part a second time outside of tires and light bulbs."
"We purchased our 98 LS400 in 2004 from the original owner. I drove it for 4 years and then gave it to our son who was in college. We wanted him to have safe and reliable transportation. He has driven it since. The LS has an unbeatable ride, undeniable reliability and will serve you well if it is maintained properly. As with all luxury vehicles, it is not cheap to do some of the maintenance, but it is worth it... and oil changes only need to be done at 5-7,000 mile intervals. We always used full synthetic oil and had it serviced at our local Toyota dealership."
