"This has been by far the most reliable car I've ever owned. Very easy to work on if you do have any issues.. Lexus did such a great job on designing this vehicle inside and out. Ride is very comfortable. The v8 1uz-fe and transmission are are a great match, seamless and a blast."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 305,500
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Quality build, reliability, comfort, solid feel"
Cons: "Leather seats age, air suspension issues"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"305,000 miles and still drives and behaves better than most cars with one third the mileage. Do not get me wrong. There isn't any car out there that can go this long without some maintenance and repairs along the way. However, with some TLC, most 1st gen LS400 can go as long as mine. The interior does not look dated or weird even 22 years after it first was driven off the dealer lot. A coworker of mine just bought a new 2013 Challenger and was gloating about its features like traction control, anti-lock brakes, heated seats, etc. I told him my car has that too.......since 1991! If you know how to spin wrenches and can find one of these, snag it ASAP! For about $1800 you can get luxury in a very beautiful package too! I cannot see myself buying another make or model ever again!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 190,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "price, taxes, quality, power steering, power"
Cons: "gas? Trying to think of anything and it's hard"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Once you own this Lexus you will never look for another car. They last forever and the quality is better then most cars built in 2012. The power, comfort, extras, quality of leather and sleek look make it one of the best automobiles ever made. I searched for the right vehicle for five months. I chose right. The only thing to question is gas mileage and there are some obvious maintenance requirements. Every 100k, which is only about 1/3rd of the cars life, you need to get timing belt. The car is designed so even if it snaps engine will be okay. The power steering pump also will leak after 15 years and 120k, the dash will have lighting issues, which is a $5 fix if your good with soldering iron. Take care of it and it will provide you will a wonderful experience. Most people still think I have money because I have a nice new, big Lexus. Best of all you pay almost nothing in taxes as the listed value is $5000 range. Finally two of my friends, one is over 60, went to Vegas and bought a 91 Lexus. They are in love."

overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "Style, comfort, safety, and fun to drive!"
Cons: "Pricey repairs: window, brain, antenna"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Love this car! Purchased 17 year old vehicle with only 55,000 miles on it! Rides and handles like a dream. Comfortable, safe, and good looking, a lot of car for what we paid. Used as vacation vehicle. We have replaced brakes, tires, fuel filter, and recently the computer "brain". Has a power window"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 300,000
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsPros: "smooth ride, maintenance is affordable"
Cons: "power steering went out on the car"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"the Lexus offers a very smooth ride in the city and over the road. The maintenance was affordable and as long as this car is maintained (oil change, brakes, rotors, and tires), it will never let you down. It was worth every penny I spent on it. The only major problem that I had was the power steering had a leek and had to be replaced and the labor was more than the parts. I would definitely get another Lexus!"
