Pros: "Interior, Quality, Safety, and Comfort"

Cons: "Burns Oil, Expensive Suspension, and Bad Handling"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I bought this car used with 106k miles on it. Soon after buying it, I could tell that something was wrong with the suspension. In short, I had to replace all four struts because one was broken and it would've been extremely expensive to replace Lexus's adjustable air ride suspension. Additionally, the car burns oil profusely and handles like the large sedan marketed at older buyers that it is. However, with its faults addressed, it is an extremely reliable car and gets surprisingly good gas mileage (between 25 and 30 mpg). Also, I love the interior and features."

Pros: "Smooth, Quiet, Reliable"

Cons: "Cup Holders are atrocious"

"I had my eyes on this model for a few years now, drove a 98 Accord before. Sold that one as it didn't run that nicely, and got a 2000 Lexus Es300, boy was the difference night and day. The Es had more miles on it than my Accord and it ran much smoother, and quieter. Getting up to freeway speeds was no issue and the heated seats were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, a deer ran into it and it has been totaled. However, I love this car so much that with the money my insurance gives me I'm going to turn right back around and buy the same model Lexus. These cars are bulletproof, you don't find quality like this in newer cars."

"We have owned this car since 2001 when it had 65000 miles on it. It was our number one car until 2007. Because of the reliability and comfort of this car, we purchased a 2007 Lexus ES350. Our 1999 Lexus has been an excellent number two car,and is still running like new."

Pros: "Fun to drive, comfortable, stylish, fast, lexus"

Cons: "Cup holders are horrible, stock cd player lights"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"First off I want to say I just purchased mine used with 113,500 miles. I got it from a family friend whos Grandma bought new, then sold to her daughter, then it was in my friends garage. therefore it was in perfect condition, everything works great, interior is still good, exterior only one small issue. Its comfortable, AC is nice and cold, stock system sounds great, purs doesn't roar. They say 0-60 in 7 seconds, sounds about right. I'm 6'5 and I have enough space. Can fit a small family, probably no more then 4 if there is a baby. REVIEW BEWARE: I have owned this car less then two weeks I will change if any issues that are detrimental to review score. Trunk is large enough, built in security system. One problem that has happened to me and I've heard others say is the lights in the stock CD player go out. Minor issue for the price these days and how long/great they run. One thing i'm a little worried about so far is engine gets hot fast, or so it seems. Gauge doesn't go up high and doesn't effect car. If you can get one of these at a decent price go for it. All the reviews say these cars last for ever."

Pros: "Runs very smooth, comfortable, reliable"

Cons: "Subpar interior for a '97 luxury car"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this car used with 86k miles for $10000 in 2001. It now has ~235k miles. 5 years were highway miles, to and from work. The only issues I've had was changing the exhaust pipes for ~$600, and the engine now has a slow oil leak. This car is from 1997, and that is the only two issues that I've had since buying it 14 years ago. That's not bad in my view. Otherwise, it still runs and sounds smooth, is very comfortable, reliable, and good on gas. Great value for an 18 year old vehicle; worth EVERY cent!"

Pros: "quality product"

Cons: "cup holder don't hold water bottles"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Purchased the 99 new. Very smooth ride today. Gets about 28MPG. New transmission @ 192K. Started making some whining noise. Ignition Coil pack @120K. O2 sensor @ 150K. Charcoal Canister @200K. Sounds like a lot of issues, but for 16 years and 202K miles it has been great. Way better than my old chevy product I had before. AC still cold after 16 years, unlike my husbands 04 Camrys which needs work. Was in a minor accident, rear ended at a stop light. Car just needed some new paint and I was fine. Will definitely buy another one when the wheels fall off."
