"I have owned 11 Land Rover Discovery's comprising of both series I and II. To be honest with you I try to let them go, but I always find myself buying one again. The fun and sense of adventure cant be beat. Along with the unique styling and looks makes it hard to not truly love this vehicle. Sure it has its quirks, but for me its like Starbucks on a Sunday Morning, Unless you regularly experience it, you will never understand. By the way, the fact that it is a 1998 50th year anniversary edition with the chrome bumpers ,only ads the icing to this very sweet cake!"

"Extremely solid and safe feeling vehicle, excellent quality interior, wheels, paint fabuluous. Gas mileage and performance are sub-par. Overall - safe and reliable vehicle that has enjoyed excellent pride of ownership - still cleans-up beautifully after 13 years."

"The Land Rover Discovery is an SUV I've been wanting for quite a while. I got it two years ago and been happy with it. Pros: -Great looking vehicle -Strong -Perhaps the best off road ever -Very fun! -High Clearance -Good engine -4X4 -and many, many more... Cons: -Could be expensive to repair due to the fact that is a foreign car"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 200,248
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "best SUV if you need a true 4 wheel drive truck"
Cons: "fuel mileage, some have reliability issues"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"She's just clicked over 200k with not a fault. Everything looks and feels like a gently used 3-4 year old car even with the miles and extensive off road use. Having come from Jeeps, the Rover does everything better and with a whole lot more class. Flat undercarriage, long travel coil spring suspension with 4 wheel disc brakes, one piece axle housings with off-center diffs both to the right in line with each other, full floating rear axle, 3.55:1 gear drive transfer case, parking brake on the driveshaft (locks everything up offroad), no slip joints ect. Everything needing attention on a Jeep is already thoughfully done on a Rover stock. Fuel mileage is about the same, but having rear head rests (Cherokee never did) and all of the other creature comforts seal the deal. Hard pressed to get a Jeep over 100k without trim falling apart and squeeks and rattles galore. I loved it so much I bought a 2003 Discovery in 2005 and have both and no longer own any Jeeps. Worth a look if you want a no compromises off road truck and would rather be on the trail than modifying your Jeep to suit."
