All 2014 Kia Sportages gain a new grille design, new suspension dampers, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, rear-seat heating vents and reclining rear outboard seats. The 2.4-liter engine gets gasoline direct injection, while new options include HID headlights and ventilated front seats.
Changes to the 2013 Kia Sportage include LED accent lighting on LX and EX trims, standard power-folding side mirrors on the SX (optional on EX) and a new Blue Interior Package (blue seating and inserts). The UVO infotainment system is added to the LX Convenience Package.
The 2012 Kia Sportage SUV has a slight increase in fuel economy for both the 2.4-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines. All models receive improved rear suspension dampers and more sound insulation, while LX trims have new 17-inch wheels and low-rolling-resistance tires. EX trims with cloth seats get a new anti-bacterial, anti-soil fabric that also repels static build-up.
The 2011 Kia Sportage all-new this year, with a new look, new in-cabin technology and a new 4-cylinder that's standard across the board (with the single exception of the turbo 2.0-liter in the SX trim), with no V6 offered. Offered in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive (awd) versions, the 2011 Sportage also includes a multitude of segment firsts on its list of standard features.
The 2009 Kia Sportage receives a slight freshening, with a new grille and headlamp treatment, color keyed front and rear bumpers and new 16- and 17-inch wheels. A navigation system is now offered and a new radio with auxiliary audio and USB input jacks, is made standard on all models.
Kia's oldest running nameplate, the 2014 Sportage, has evolved from a basic 4x4 SUV into a stylish, powerful, compact crossover SUV. Today's Sportage is a more civilized creature, touting a sophisticated yet firm suspension, an available turbocharged engine, and a long list of features aimed at providing maximum comfort and convenience. Although competitors such as the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester and Ford Escape all offer more interior space and better fuel economy, the Sportage counters with a number of advantages ranging from horsepower to price. Toss in the standard 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and the Sportage begins to look like a very good bet.
