Narrow year range (drag arrows to filter):
The EX trim adds cruise control to its standard equipment roster, while a power glass sunroof and anti-lock brakes (ABS) are now offered as options.
In the crowded subcompact car field, the Kia Spectra sometimes falls off the radar screen. That's a shame, because this little four-door has a lot to offer, including a host of standard safety features that are either optional or unavailable on rival cars. Sharing its underpinnings with the Hyundai Elantra, the Spectra touts its own sporty good looks with bright exterior paint, body-colored door handles and available body-colored mirrors and racy alloy wheels. The Spectra's 2.0-liter engine doesn't exactly inspire spirited driving, but it is a miserly consumer of fossil fuels.

"I'VE OWN THIS CAR FOR THREE YEARS.NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE IS A MUST.ONLY HAD TIRES AND BATTERY REPLACED.MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW MAIN- TENANCE BY THE BOOK AND KEEP RECORDS. KIA MAY DECLINE REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY IF PROOF OF SCHEDULE MAIN- TENANCE CAN'T BE PROVIDED (SPECIFICALLY POWERTRAIN)"

"I purchased a 2006 Spectra5, auto, with 7900 miles. I have owned it for a couple of months, now has 11,000 miles. I made a great buy on this vehicle, practically like new, it runs great, has a surprisingly smooth ride, excellent accelleration, pretty good fuel economy , in town mixed 24-26, highway 30-32. The verdict is still out on reliability, with regular scheduled maintenance I expect many trouble free miles. I never thought I'd ever own a KIA, I'm a Toyota, Honda guy, I can easily see myself purchasing another one in the future, so far I'm very happy with my decision, no regrets."

"Purchased this car for the sole purpose of commuting to work. The price / warranty were big selling points and the interior was adequate and surprisingly spacious up front (I am 6' 4" - 260 lbs) While long trips are out of the question, the car is comfortable for me during my commute (45 mins). After 4 1/2 years and 60K miles, this car has been fantastic. Other than performing scheduled maintenance, there have been no engine/mechanical issues. I have had a few very minor issues, in the first 2 years, that were covered under warranty and replaced without question: 1. Speedometer was replaced. 2. Replaced driver side visor (mirror fell out) 3. Replaced 2 hubcaps (paint peeling) For such an afffordable car, the safety features are great (front, side airbags, auto sensor for passenger airbag) while the interior material quality is mediocre (which was expected) but more than adequate. Great car for a starting driver. Not too powerful but can get up onto the highway when needed. Mine has been reliable and is still in great shape, especially since it is not kept in a garage. Hope this helps."
