"We have been looking at the Kia Soul for a couple of years now, and we finally decided to trade in our 2001 vehicle for a 2013 Kia Soul base model with the automatic transmission package. The automatic transmission upgrade comes with lots of other upgrades, like the ECO option and other "bells and whistles". We have only had our Soul for about two months and 2200 miles, but I can't think of anything we DON'T like about this vehicle. The interior is surprisingly roomy and comfortable, the standard equipment is amazing, the dashboard is well laid out, the climate control works super, the ride is excellent, the 1.6 liter engine is peppy and gutsy, and we are getting a combined 33 MPG, which is better than we expected. There is no doubt in my mind that the Kia Soul stands alone as the king of providing the most "bang for your buck". You simply cannot buy any other vehicle for under 17K that has the quality and equipment the Kia Soul has. And we all know about the great warranty, too."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 2,100
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "CHEAP TO OWN, GREAT GAS MILEAGE"
Cons: "SEVERE BLIND SPOTS, WINDSHIELD DEVELOPMENT"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7
"I LIKE MY SOUL NO REAL COMPLAINTS, BUT I WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE IT IS A CHEAP CAR. AND THE INTERIOR SHOWS. GREAT GAS MILEAGE, SO FAR I HAVE BEEN AVERAGEING 42-48 MILES PER GALLON ON THE FREEWAY AND ABOUT 29-33 IN TOWN YES, I HAVE THE PICS AND THE RECEIPTS TO PROVE IT. I DRIVE 51 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK A 102 MILES A DAY, TAKES ABOUT 7. DOLLARS A DAY COMPARE TO THE MINI VAN I HAD OF 18.00 A DAY. INSURANCE IS CHEAP ON IT. THERE IS NO REAL COMPLAINT SO FAR. IT IS STILL FAIRLY NEW. COMFORT AS RIDE, NOT MADE FOR LONG ROAD TRIPS, UNLESS YOU HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE THAT COVERS CHIROPRATIC DOCTORS. ITS A GREAT RUN AROUND CAR, COMMUTER CAR BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT. IT WAS NOT MADE FOR LONG ROAD TRIPS. I AM SURE YOU COULD BUT AS I STATED ALREADY MAKE SURE YOUR INSURANCE COVER CHIROPRATIC VISITS BIGGEST COMPLAINT, LOT AND I MEAN LOT OF BLIND SPOTS, VISIBILITY IS VERY POOR, EXCEPT WINDSHIELD. SO YOU REALLY HAVE TO TURN YOUR HEAD BEFORE CHANGING LANES, ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. WHICH IS DANGEROUS, TAKING YOUR EYES OFF OF THE FRONT ROAD, THE MIRRORS ARE SMALL FOR THE CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH ALL THE BLIND SPOTS. WITH ALL THE BLIND SPOTS, I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND YOU DO NOT TINT THIS AUTO, ITS HARD ENOUGH TO SEE, WITHOUT THAT IN YOUR WAY. SO FAR THE THE ELETRONICS WORK GREAT AND LOVE THE BLUETOOTH VIA RADIO. IT DOES NOT DO WELL IN HIGH WIND, WHICH WE GET HERE, IT GETS PUSHED VERY EASILY, MOSTLY BECAUSE IT IS SO LIGHT OF A CAR, NO FAULT OF MAKER, JUST VERY LIGHT CAR. OVERALL I AM SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE. LETS TALK ABOUT THE WINDSHIELD, I OWNED THE CAR FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD BECUZ OF ROCK HITTING IT. I WAS TOLD BY ASAP WINDSHIELD INSTALLER GET USE TO IT, THE WAY IT IS DESIGN, THE WINDSHIELD GETS BROKEN ALOT BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN, THE WINDSHIELD IS ALMOST VERTICALLY STRAIGHT, MOST AUTOS IN THIS TYPE OF DESIGN, THE NISSAN CUBE, KIA SOUL, AND THE TOYOTA GOES THRU AT LEAST TWO OR THREE WINDSHIELDS A YEAR, THE INSTALLER TOLD ME. SO I LOWERED MY INSURANCE DEDUCTABE TO ZERO, JUST FOR THAT REASON. A NEW WINDSHIELD FROM FACTORY WILL RUN YOU ABOUT 500 DOLLARS PLUS TAX, AFTER MARKET WINDSHIELD ABOUT 200-300. THE DEALER GOT ME ONE AT THEIR COST OF 150.00, AFTER MARKET WINDSHIELD. FACTORY DEALER COST WAS ABOUT 300.00. HOPEFULLY KIA WILL FIX THAT DESIGN, AND SLOPE THE WINDSHIELD MORE SO ROCKS ROLL OFF NOT INTO IT. BUT WE WILL SEE. AS FAR AS THE DEALERSHIP, THE COTTONWOOD DEALERSHIP WAS WONDERFUL NO COMPLAINTS. SO FAR I REALLY LIKE THE CAR, IT IS A GREAT COMMUTER CAR SAVES GAS AND CHEAP TO RUN. SO OVER ALL I GIVE A RATING OF 7 OUT OF 10 STARS."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 1,500
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "KEWL looking car!"
Cons: "Seat belt connection digs into hip of big people"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Overall this is an economical, fun, zippy little car to drive around in. It gets people's attention - I have had tons of compliments on mine. I like the way the rear seats fold down for extra cargo space and my dogs love it too! I have an Akita and a Chinese Shar-Pei; both on the big side of breed standard! The air conditioner works well as does the rear window wiper. The only things I would want to change are adding back-up beepers and remote side mirror adjusters. The glove compartment is big, the sound system is great, and the Blue-tooth works well. Do I sound like a car commercial yet? I love my KIA SOUL!!!!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 7,000
overall rating 5 of 10rating detailsPros: "unique design, for under $15k"
Cons: "gas mileage"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2
"Overall I like the KIA Soul, however the gas mileage is very disappointing for a 1.5 L with barely 25mpg in city , my '06 focus with a 2.0L does better @ 28 mpg and a '13 Fiesta with 1.8 L is doing 35 mpg. The Kia gas rebate for misleading stated city mpg is a pain to go through. I plan on selling the car immediate future."
