"I really enjoyed my Sorento. However once the timing chain needed to be repaired I took it to a realible mechanic. He made the repairs in June 2012 and then September 2012 I took it back because the truck locked on me and caused some other problems with engine. After repairs in November I called him December and advised him the truck was shaking was not running correct. He tried to tell me the truck was already shaky. I told him no I had not had a problem with it prior to him working on it. He told me there was nothing more he could do with it. So then the harmonic balance falls off he again refused stating past six months. Balance $4479.12 repair cost $4500.00 with Kia dealer. Any options? I need a vehicle not sure what to do."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 188,000overall rating 8 of 10rating details
Pros: "Great for the price, durable, good on gas"
Cons: "front lite bulbs short out constantly"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Got mine in 2005 and had a few mechanical issue that werent necessarily manufacturer related. Only 1 was a warped drive train but that was replaced by warranty. I do have a problem with the front bulbs constantly needing replacement but considering I'm nearing 200K miles Ive been extremely pleased with mine and I'd recommend it to anyone. Be warned replacing the timing chain is a pain (done it twice). Have it replaced by a mechanic."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 131,000overall rating 9 of 10rating details
Cons: "gas mileage isn't as good as it should be"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Bought it in 2008, driven over 400 miles a week since I bought it. Replaced tires twice (Michelin), three batteries, windshield wipers and oil changes. No problems with the car whatsoever. I'm amazed! I'm looking for another Sorento to buy. It is a true four wheel drive vehicle and the gas mileage is only about 15-16mpg. It has plenty of acceleration though."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 37,000overall rating 10 of 10rating details
Pros: "great gas milage and fun to drive"
Cons: "no locking gas door"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"This was a car I bought based on safety ratings. About a month before I bought my Sorento I had a car accident in my little tin as I called it. Needless to say it was totalled, and I wanted something bigger and more importantly SAFER. Now I wasn't sure about a Kia at first. My parents owned an Optima at the time and loved it. Spoak highly of Kia went down to the local dealer and looked around and saw the 2008 I ended up buying. Test drove it and was shocked at the smooth drive it had, so car like!!! I liked that I sat higher in the car also. Safety ratings are pretty high on it also almost 5 stars accross each category. Gas milage was my next concern going from a little 4 cylinder stick shift compact to a V6 SUV. Obviously gas went up but still only have to fill up every other week. Great on gas 18-20 miles in town and 25-27 hwy."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 60,000overall rating 5 of 10rating details
Pros: "Pretty. good for here and there only"
Cons: "not practical if you drive around alot with kids"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"It does not have cruise control. On long drives my leg and foot goes numb. The back seat really only seats two comfortably. So, even thought it advertises 5, depend only on 4.The small details are not consistant. The key entry on the doors turn to the right to open but the trunk turns to the left. Some feature buttons, like the windshield defrost, light up on the dash beside the fuel gage and others, like the rear defrost, light up on the console. The buttons on the console are painted on plastic and after a year were wearing down to unreadable. Screw covers around seats break and when replaced just break again. The interior lighting has glitches where it turns on sometimes and decides to be off others even after being replaced 2x. Overall, the little features were not thought thru or cheep material."
