"Overall this car has been very dependable. Only major problems we had during the 12 yrs we owned it was a rear tire bearing had to be rebuilt , steering problem from year 5-10 that just went away on it's own and now can't pass emission test because of evaporative systen diagnostic code ( needs gas tank replaced and sending unit ) so we are going to have to get rid of it before next emissions test I already put $800 in to it to get it to pass this time next time it will cost $1800 to replace gas tank. Still runs and drives great has been on many long trips in the mountains. A big negative on this vehicle is rust on hood, rear gate and wiper and around gas fill area, I have seen this on almost all other Sedona's that I have seen on the road."
"OK minivan, nothing spectacular. Worked fairly well for 4 years in the AZ heat. A/C never really worked well enough, but it's a design issue. It wasn't built for 120 degrees. Ran well with no major problems until 85000 miles, then needed timing chain and radiator replaced. Gas mileage is terrible, average about 13 mpg over the time I owned it. Has seating for 7, DVD system in 2nd row, good stereo, nice speakers. Comfortable on road trips, but like all minivans dangerous in high winds."
"The car has been one of the most dependable cars I have ever known. It drives flat footed and is safe at any speed I have ever taken it to. Due to personal situations I drove it very little for about a year. I then renewed the license and drove it down the street and it passed the California Smog Certificate. The only problems it has are the A/C compressor needs to be replaced, the brake 'ABS' light goes on (though the brakes are fairly new, the paint is tired, and the drivers side back door outside handle has broken. I would keep it other then I have three vehicles and two drivers."
"We bought this van used. We researched and found it had a pretty good rating and great reviews. Not long after we bought it we had to fix problems with the coolant system. It was good for awhile, but right after it hit 100,000 we had to put in a transmission. We had the transmission replaced in January 2013. Since we have had some minor issues, but it has been pretty reliable. Recently we started having a wobbling feeling in the back and sometimes when you shut it off you have to wait about ten minutes for it to start. I had my mechanic look at it and there are more problems,
AC Compressor, freeze plug, trailer arm, just to name a few. The diagnosis is terminal and I guess we should start looking for a new car."
"I replaced the timing chain about 45,000 ago, and have never had a mechanical problem with this car.
I love that I took the two back bucket seats out--all four are "portable" and have lots of room for sleeping and sports equipment. Good gas mileage. Only---not so good heat and AC."
