Although now may not seem the best time to introduce a mid-size three-row SUV, the 2009 Kia Borrego certainly makes some compelling arguments on why it is due some attention. First, when equipped with Kia's first-ever V8 (borrowed from the Hyundai Genesis) and six-speed automatic transmission, the Borrego offers best-in-class fuel economy and towing capabilty, certainly appealing to those who make regular use of their trailer hitches. Second, this sport ute is spacious enough to easily seat seven adults – without requiring gymnastics in the process. And third, the Borrego comes packaged with an impressive array of standard features for a very reasonable price, making it all the more competitive with the likes of the Nissan Pathfinder, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ford Explorer.

"I bought my Borrego in May. It was the Luxury edition. I loved it! This past August 23, I was in a serious accident. I ended up totalling my Borrego. The good side to this is that I walked away from the accident! Not a scratch and absolutley no pain even after the accident. Th other driver left in an ambulance. I credit the great buid of my Borrego for my safety in the accident. That is why when I found out it was totaled, I called and got another Borrego."

"If you are looking to get a lot in a vehicle and not break the bank then the Borrego is the car for you. I was looking for a 7 passenger SUV with more luxury options. Then I discovered I would probably be paying over 40000! One day I saw a Borrego commercial and it caught my eye. After I test drove it I fell in love. I was about to get all of the options I wanted and get a luxury looking SUV for less then 30000. I am very pleased and commend Kia for their efforts!"

"I purchased my 2009 Kia Borrego in Dec 2008. I was in servicing my 2007 Kia Rondo and noticed the Borrego. I had been looking for a Tahoe or Explorer to buy, but was impressed with the Borrego. Since I have had such great luck with the Rondo, I took the chance and bought the 8cyl EX completely loaded Borrego. It has been a pleasure to drive and has met with all my expectations, except for fuel mileage. The best I can get is about 19 - 20 mpg. Otherwise this is a wonderful vehicle. This is a perfect vehicle for the sportsman or a family."
