"I live off grid , on a terrible unmaintained road . Huge holes and rocks , thick gooey clay slip , ice and snow . I bought this Jeep ( as I used to sell Jeep ) with the intention of selling it . BUT - It has performed unbelievably well !! Takes the rough stuff , and has required very little maintenance and no major repairs . AMAZING ! I've gone from 32k to 105k in 4 years , and drive the heck out of our road - in 1st gear and 4x4 most of the time . Only complaint is back gate rattles - but that's what the stereo is for - ha ha . I highly recommend this Jeep model above the other choices. Never was a big fan of Cherokees and was very surprised by the overall quality of the Liberty ."
"I love the comfort of my 2006 Liberty. It's an Army green colored so it is decaled like an Army General's jeep which adds a cool twist. My biggest thing about this car, is the gas mpg-horrible! Not sure about you guys but I'm only getting about 18hwy, needless to say after moving and commuting 175mi daily it's time to trade it in. Another problem I keep having is window motors and regulators going out? Good car overall, we got it dirt cheap and I have certainly enjoyed our time together!"
Pros: "Good price , on and off road capable/adequate pwer"
Cons: "needs 6 speed tranny, more cupholders, better MPG'"

"Overall we love this midsize SUV. I'm 6'5" and have great head room and adequate legroom. With the 3.7 liter 210 HP V-6 we get a vehicle that's snappy, and easy to park .it's a high profile vehicle that doesn't feel top heavy . It's part time 4WD system gives us great confidence in Central PA winters. Mostly we get by with all season radials with the 4wd Selc-Trac system. In real world driving we get about 15 MPG around town and 21 MPG on a trip. I use 5W/30 Mobil 1 Synthetic oil and a Lifetime K"
"I just wasn't lucky with this car. 70k on it and have had to have the rear end replaced but still the problem exists. When pulling out, it sometimes slams out of first gear. This happens whether I have my hand on the shifter or not. Brakes, weird rubbing issue with the front brakes. Again, had it to the dealer who fixed it...for a month and the issue came back. The vehicle was great up until the 60k mark and it was all down hill. Even after all of that, I still like them and know a few folks who have had good ones. I just got a lemon!"
