"I traded my Audi A6 in for this vehicle. I loaded it up to have all the same options so I could be practicle for a while with a great warranty. To my pleasure It has never needed repairs unlike my $50K A6. Sure it doesn't ride as nice and its not as quiet but its a very reliable and agile vehicle. The only con is the tires spin on wet or snowy pavement unless you use 4 wheel. It has a lot of torque and spins easily in the rain. You cannot beat this for the money."
"I bought my Liberty new in Feb 05'. The thing I like the best about it is that it's "peppy". I'm usually always in a hurry and my jeep likes to accomodate me. I just turned over 40,000 miles and so far have had no problems. The 2 things I don't like about it are the windows are controlled from the middle panel (vs the doors), I'm still trying to unroll my window with the lock on the door. The other thing I don't like about it is the front window is too low. My husband is 6'4" and cannot see very well because his head almost hits the top of the roof. He refuses to drive it anymore for fear he'll get in an accident. If you're shorter (I'm 5'8") it's fine."
"This truck does all you tell it to do on the road and off. My only gripe would be the fuel economy, for a vehicle of this size. Gets about the same a Chevy Trailblazer Ext or Envoy XL, big size difference here. But , this Jeep, never got stuck anywhere. Mud, Snow, Rocks whatever you throw at it I always came out hassle free."
"I have the 2005 version of the Liberty.
We have not had any "ANY" problems with this vechile we have roughly 30k on it.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great all around suv.
We have owned a lot of suvs in the last ten years from the MB ML430, Infinti Qx4, Infiniti FX35, And I would not trade my Jeep for any of them again. The only thing I wish was better on this vechile would be the road noise.
The vechile was orginally purchased for my 17 year old daughter and we gave her the FX35 I liked it that much more."
"This suv is not for those who can't afford gas. (bad gas milage) The suv looks great, drives much better and is more comfortable than i've read, and has some good pick up for an suv. You won't be unhappy if you like Jeep like we do!!!"
"I purchased my Liberty used and I love it. It has a great ride. It's not small like the car that I had, however it's not large like a big SUV, but it is very roomy. I love it and would purchase another one."
"biggest thing i didn't like about the liberty was the darn spare tire on the back and the way the back doors open up. in order to hook a trailer to it, you need a least a 2" drop in the receiver in order to have enough clearence to put the trailer tongue on it. next is the rolling lock system. you have to take it to the dealer to get the options changed.
best vehicle i have owned in the snow. expecially to pick up stranded neighbors."
"My Jeep Liberty is a really fun vehicle to drive! It's great in the snow WITH the 4x4 on, but not so great on the ice or snow without it, as it seems to be a fairly light vehicle. It's great for 2-3 people max. I probably would not own this vehicle if I had to haul more than one child and all the equipment that goes along with one, as the interior is not extremely spacious."
"This is a great little vehicle except for one thing: The gas mileage sucks. If you can afford to continue pouring gas into the tank, fine. It is a wonderfully performing vehicle. But if you can't afford the gas, don't buy this vehicle."
"hittin 100,000 miles on mine and still no probs with engine/drivetrain. water pump went out about 70,000 which seems fairly normal time. ac blower has gotten weaker. other than that, still runs like brand new vehicle. engine performance is great. maint costs are pretty low. i took it in for 100,000 check up othe day, paid $500 for a new ecu and other little things. over all, well built machine that doesnt look like it will be quitting on me anytime soon. i recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants to get a long lasting ride."
"Overall - Fun Vehicle. Very Reliable, great in the snow. 2006 had traction control. This car does not have AWD, just part tme 4WD.
It is a little skittish in the rain - get traction control. Gas MPG, not what I expected - avg 16 MPG, 20 MPG HWY - actuals.
It is what it is - A Jeep, fun - great second vehicle."
