"By far this is one of the WORST cars we've ever owned. We've owned our fully-loaded 4.7L 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 since it was brand new, and now she has 212k miles on her. It's terrible on gas, the transmission is noisy, but the 4X4 works great. The seats are uncomfortable and are ripped up from use. We've taken the Jeep on many longer trips, and have all been fatigued when we got out of it. The radio no longer functions, and it's the navigation radio, which isn't recommended. The speedometer no longer works, and the ABS and brake systems need work. The front differential was rebuilt in 2014, as it made a "clunking" noise, and the EGR valve had to be replaced as well. But at least she's been running as long as she's been running, and it's time for a replacement vehicle. Even though we've had a terrible experience with this one, we're still getting a newer Jeep, as the newer ones are impressive."
"I have driven the car for a year and its sustainablilty has been amazing, no major mechanical issues. This car drives well, the steering wheel has a comfortable grip and the seating is comfortable....Loved this car so much, that I do not want to drive any other suv besides jeep"
Cons: "Could be a little bit better on gas millage."

"This Jeep is 4.7 V8 all wheel drive flex fuel. It is an excellent vehicle to have during the winter months. With over 198,000 mile and still purrs like a champ. Gas millage not so good. The V6 gets better millage but is prone to more repairs according to people I talk with that owns the V6. If you don't mind the 15-17 mile per gallon, then you will love this vehicle. No major repair except for the water pump. Just the basic maintenance: brakes, oil change, tune up,tires, wiper blades etc."
Pros: "Lots of nice features, nice size and a V8 engine"
Cons: "Unreliable and clunky drive train. Disappointing."

"Bought my Jeep with 38,000 miles on it. It looked great. I like the size, handling, features, and V8 engine with very reasonable gas mileage. On the other hand the drive train, especially the transmission, is poorly designed and unreliable. Mine stuck in fourth gear during a trip 300 miles from home. Luckily, I tried disconnecting the battery hoping some computer would reset itself, and it worked. It hasn't happened again,... yet. I have had other transmission problems. With the help of the Chrysler mechanic, I now understand it to be the transmission up shifting to fifth gear or to partial lock-up (the mechanic told me) by the time I get to 35 MPH. That is too soon for the engine which begins to struggle. It would be no problem if the transmission would down shift, but that doesn't happen. I am told it's working as designed. The bottom line is this otherwise very likeable vehicle, leaves me concerned about when the transmission is going to fail completely. To me there is no excuse for this. I won't buy another Chrysler product."
