"Ibought this jeep in 2015 a 2001 with 103,000miles im the second owner. It has 108,00 now normal oil changes 3000 miles.Quality top notch.Beutifull inside and out.The only thing I have replaced is the 02 sencers when my check engine light came on.Which is normal for the miles in my opinion. And one window regulator which ive heard alot of bad about.Ihave select trac snow in colorado can be bad slip it in all wheel drive never spun a tire yet.Rotors perfect factory units.Four low is awsome you can jump out and walk beside your jeep faster than it will go down a trail. The 4.0 strait 6 is a wonderful power plant tried and true.Ive spoke to alot of ase mech whove said the 4.7 is a bad v8 valve seats etc stay away.Sure the 4.0 lacks in horse power but is so reliable if properly maintained.Ilove my grand cherokee laredo maybe I have a good one or maybe its just proper maintenance but I would recomend this jeep to anyone for comfort and reliability and off road capebility.2001 in my opinion they got it right."

"I've never had and really bad issues with it just maintenance and stuff that get old that you replace i really love my jeep it rides great i would seriously recommend a grand Cherokee cause they are very safe vehicles And they have lots of room in them and the are very dependable mine is a 2000 grand Cherokee Laredo i love my motor its a 4.0 inline 6 engine they run forever but the V8 grand Cherokee's brake down a lot so if your going to bye on get one that has a 4.0 inline 6 engine I've only replace my rotors/ brakes and radiator and water pump and engine belt and fan clutch nun of this happened at the same time but this is all stuff that wares out but like i Sead it a very dependable SUV for anyone hope hue ever visits this has a great day bye."

Pros: "great full time four wheel drive, 100% mecanical"

Cons: "needs a lot of work continuously at a big cost.."

"Car bought at a GM dealership as a one-owner CPO plum..had just came off factory warranty and to sweeten-the- pot, the silly sales man offered to warranty this rig as a brand new car. A full Platinum Plan bumper to bumper for 6 years at a cost of $2600..we jumped on it!!! NO DEDUCTIBLE....on all these repairs: The transmission quit, so they put in a fresh one, all labor and parts were free. The whiz-bang full auto air conditioning quit, the repairs required complete removal of the dashboard and an install kit from Jeep, which consisted of newly engineered flap doors made of metal instead of the OEM plastic junk, all at no cost. The electric window regulators quit, first one was the driver's side, then the passenger's side, we did the two back window regulators as a preemptive strike, as there ain't no temporary fix, once the regulator gives up, the glass falls down into the door. Your wife won't like to drive around town with a plastic garbage-bag taped to the door frame..been-there-done-that. The brakes are very jumpy on these Chrysler/Daimler rigs, the cure is a matched set of brakes, with new calipers-rotors and pads. Then it stops without any trembling of the pedal. Free is a very good price.."

Pros: "Comfortable, reliable, powerful, great MPG"

Cons: "As with any Jeep repairs are frequently required"

"I bought my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 in 2014 as my first car. It's the 26E Package, which basically means it's as base as a Jeep Grand Cherokee that you could buy new in 2002, with no other options. The 4.0L I6 is one tough engine, and gets good fuel economy, as well as has great power. The 42RE 4-speed automatic is a great transmission, and the Selec-Trac NV242 transfer case is a great 4X4 system. The seats are nice and comfortable, as I could easily take it on a long trip and not be fatigued when I get out of it. Recently, the driver's-side rear window has gone off-track, and needs to be repaired, as it had to be pushed back up manually and the door panel has to come off in order to repair it. Also, the 'Check Engine' light is currently on for an emissions code that has to be looked at. The A/C blows ice cold in the summer as long as you keep it charged, and the heater blows hot in the winter (in fact, if you put your finger on one of the HVAC vents with the heat going at full blast, you can feel the vent gets really, really hot to the touch!). Finally, the other problem that recently occurred was that the entire circuit board for the left rear tail lamp recently went out, so a new rear left tail lamp is required to fix that problem. All in all, though, this Jeep is a great choice, especially for parents who want to put their young driver in a safe vehicle, but for the young driver who wants a fun-to-drive, go-anywhere vehicle that gets great gas mileage and has plenty of power! I LOVE my Jeep! (:"

"I now have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited and 1999 Grand Cherokee. Obviously don't need both, but LOVE the '99. I am the 2nd owner of this Jeep, which had 14000 miles on it in 2001. Please make me another one!"
