"I bought my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 in 2014 as my first car. It's the 26E Package, which basically means it's as base as a Jeep Grand Cherokee that you could buy new in 2002, with no other options. The 4.0L I6 is one tough engine, and gets good fuel economy, as well as has great power. The 42RE 4-speed automatic is a great transmission, and the Selec-Trac NV242 transfer case is a great 4X4 system. The seats are nice and comfortable, as I could easily take it on a long trip and not be fatigued when I get out of it. Recently, the driver's-side rear window has gone off-track, and needs to be repaired, as it had to be pushed back up manually and the door panel has to come off in order to repair it. Also, the 'Check Engine' light is currently on for an emissions code that has to be looked at. The A/C blows ice cold in the summer as long as you keep it charged, and the heater blows hot in the winter (in fact, if you put your finger on one of the HVAC vents with the heat going at full blast, you can feel the vent gets really, really hot to the touch!). Finally, the other problem that recently occurred was that the entire circuit board for the left rear tail lamp recently went out, so a new rear left tail lamp is required to fix that problem. All in all, though, this Jeep is a great choice, especially for parents who want to put their young driver in a safe vehicle, but for the young driver who wants a fun-to-drive, go-anywhere vehicle that gets great gas mileage and has plenty of power! I LOVE my Jeep! (:"
