"I have own several Fords and Jeeps. I have owned my Compass for 2 years. I have never had any problems with this car. I can not say that for the Fords I have owned. The gas mieage is great as long as you reailze that you are not in a V6. I can get 27 miles to the gallon city and 31 on the hwy if you excellerate slowly. I wish that the value of the car would hold up better for resale but so far it has been my favorite car I have ever owned."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 1,000
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsPros: "Good value for money, good driver, reliable car. much impoved over my 07 compass"
Cons: "Needs direct injection. You get this to over 30mpg on the highway it would be unbeatable."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I had an 07 compass. After 75k I had absolutely no issues with the car. Being here in Texas, always outside, and using it more like a truck than a car it was was getting worn around the edges. It still ran fine, but I had torn up the interior a bit and it went through a hail storm, so it was time. The 11 compass takes a good vehicle and made it better. How? It drives better and tighter, it is quieter going down the road, the interior is much better laid out. I got a few creature comforts in this one that I did not have in the other one. I paid the same price for this one that I did for the last one, I get better amenities and the dealer gave me a really good deal. ONE CAVEAT, I ONLY DRIVE STICK CARS. I hate rubber band transmissions, I like to feel the road and have more control over the car. I still think this is one of the best vehicles for the amount of space and utility for the money. I don't drive them forever, but if I have no issues I have no complaints. Have a good one..."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 7,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Nice to drive, remote start, heated seats"
Cons: "Pricey, poorly controlled cruise"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8
"I bought this vehicle in Nov. 2011, and I have only minimal complaints. For the price I paid, I feel it should have some of the minor conveniences my old Grand Cherokee had (rear glass lift, mpg calculator/dash computer controls, dual automatic up/down window controls, etc). That being said, there are several qualities I love: reclining 60/40 bench rear seat, heated seats, Sirius radio, aux jack, fog lights, flat-folding passenger seat, and my remote start. My husband and I are remodeling our house, and we have been able to haul most of our supplies (including 8ft pieces of lumber and landscape beams). I was also able to haul several bags of soil and mulch, with no noticeable driving difference. I like the way it drives better than my Grand Cherokee; it handles more like a car than a large SUV (understandably). Four adults are able to fit comfortably (but five is stretching it a bit). There have been no mechanical problems yet. This was obviously not built for serious off-roading, but I have had no problems on some of our more treacherous back roads in the area. I average about 23mpg, city/hwy combined. I live in an area with a lot of hills, and the cruise control doesn't handle that on the interstate as well as some of my previous cars. If I have it set on 73, I can vary anywhere between 65-75. The four-wheel drive performed well in the little bit of snow we had this winter. Overall I am very happy with it, as is my husband."

"We bought this vehicle 6 months ago. It was used and had 50k miles and had a "clean" car fax. Within 1 month it broke down and had to be towed to the nearest dealership. 2 months later it did the same thing and had to be towed again. 1 month later it had to be towed yet again. It turns out that this year model has issues with the computer and the computer has to be reset on a very frequent basis. Chrysler has no fix for this problem and, as far as we can find out, has no plans to develop one. I would recommend that if anyone is considering buying a Compass - STAY AWAY"
