"We purchased a 2006 Jeep Commander a year ago and I really love it! It is a smooth ride and a lot of interior room. I feel safe and best of all my kids love it too! The gas mileage averages about 19-21 on the highway, slightly lower if you drive in stop and go traffic. There is lots of storage and cubby space in the front and all the seats fold down with ease. The only downside to this vehicle is the theater style seating. The second row is higher than the first and the third row is even higher. The third row is NOT adult friendly because it has limited leg room."

"Wow - a lot of unjustified negative reviews out there, in my opinion. Bought mine used with 32k - now has 60k - ZERO problems...rides smooth, very roomy without being a boat on the road, excellent range of view, extremely comfortable, I'm 6'1" and I can fit in the third row, so it's not like other 3rd row vehicles where only a 6 year old child would fit. Looks nice. You can find used ones for very reasonable prices vs. competitive vehicles. Extended warranties through chrysler can be found on the web!"

"I have a 2006 commander and it has run like a top. I have the 5.7 hemi best investment i have made for a vehicle. I has plenty of get up and go, and it can push though the snow even if it is above the axles (trust me i have done it) traction control is awsome and i have not had a problem. I only get about 18 mpg though that could be better. I know that i am safe so it is worth the sacrifice on mpg."

"We bought the Commander new when my wife found out she was pregnant. The only issue we have had with it is batteries. I am about to buy my second battery in 5 years. Aside from that, it has been awesome. With my wife driving (lead foot), the 4.7 V8 averages about 16mpg in town & 18mpg highway. When I drive, the numbers go up to 18mpg in town & 22mpg highway. Pretty great considering the size & power you have. If I were to give any negative comments, it would be the seats. We have grey cloth seats and they will get spots even with only water spillage. Add 2 kids to the back seat & you can see how this becomes problematic."

"I bought my 2007 commander after looking at many different cars, trucks, and SUV's. I wanted something that had 4wd, lots of room, and was not a mini van. After owning a GMC Envoy that had many problems while under warranty I have been very happy with my problem free Jeep. I love the boxy look, it feels even bigger on the inside. I have drove it off road and through snow and ice and have never had a vehicle perform so well in all. Some say the gas mileage is bad but not when compared to other heavy V8 vehicles. I have gotten 19.6 on highways and average 16 mpg. Cost about 40 bucks to fill it up and drive 324 miles, not too bad. It is also the quietest ride I have ever been in. I have all the options except for DVD nav, and they all are wonderful, especially the heated leather seats. 5/5 and Jeep has another loyal customer."
