Pros: "Reliability, Good in BAD weather conditions, Tough"

Cons: "Gas Mileage!!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love this Jeep. The XJ models are one of the greatest Jeep came up with. It has the ever so reliable Bullet Proof Straight 6 engine that runs even when the Jeep looks like scrap on wheels. I have the Sport Trim and it is a BEAST on the highway. I race people all the time on the highway home from work and i either: completely dominate my opponent from the jump or can keep up very close behind them. If you have a Japanese commuter car or a Ford I wouldn't race a Jeep!! I also wouldn't recommend living too far from a gas station because these babies guzzle gas down faster than a person drinking water after spending weeks in a desert. Speaking of deserts these Jeeps would drive through one flawlessly. Sand, Dirt, Mud, Snow, Rain doesn't phase a Jeep the 4X4 works perfectly and they refuse to get stuck. But they still are susceptible to all forms of Ice so don't get too cocky. All in all Jeeps are the best. If you don't have one buy one today. Everyone needs at least one in their Driveway."

Out for a Rip!

"I have had my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport for about a year now. Its my first car. It is great for taking siblings to school, and great for taking friends out in on the trails to show them what it is capable of. It does eat fuel faster than most. For a stock XJ it is very capable on and off road. I absolutely love this vehicle. It was defiantly worth the 3000 I payed for it."

Pros: "Great price! Good for a first car"

Cons: "air conditioning needs repair"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"This is a one-owner Jeep. It has served me well for the past 16 years . . . it does need some minor work (hood release, inside trim, some sap on outside pain, air conditioning needs repair), but is in good condition otherwise. Just got new brakes 11 months ago!"

"I owned this car for 4.5 years she was my first car bought it when i was 16 with152200miles on her payed 5grand (life savings at the time)bone stock... loved the styling so did the ladies started every time no matter how hard the beating was the day before ran like atop (beat most of the cars in the high school parking lot to...don't tell mom) through mud sand snow the 4x4 preforms flawlessly you won't get stuck unless your asking for it. If your one of those people that doesn't want to hear any rattleing noises this isn't the car for you... but if you don't mind that you will simply get board of this car before it dies quite seriously I didn't change the oil for 10000miles on conventional 5w30 ...and it still was fine like it never happened no blow by no burning oil the car had a very durable drive line forward to reverse slams until I could get it unstuck or till a buddy showed up and never broke anything maintenance is very easy and new parts are readily available ...well all good things come to an end at about 194567miles I sliped on some black ice yesterday left the freeway sideways after rolling twice 3 of the 4 doors (missing handle) still opened and closed even worked even when the door was crushed motor still started and ran fine tranny still went into gear 4x4 still worked power steering brakes the windows that were left even rolled down...I would have dove it home if all 4 were not flat I walked away with out even losing a drop of blood or even a scratch from day one till yesterday that car preformed above and beyond my expectations (used to commute 100 miles a day for about a year...also was road tripped often)I will without a doubt get another one! high milage on these cars wouldn't scare me off I have met people along my travels with 310000 and they run flawlessly and I have recommended them to a lot of people and when they get them they are always very pleased...great starter car great college car ...it was my life...shoot it saved my life..."

"So I bought this jeep from my local tow yard and it was sitting for a winter.my mother had one from 80, xxx to 303, xxx miles and the only thing that need to be fixed wa valve cover gasket and plugs and wires. So she has beep a mopar person since then. So I found this jeep and paid 1200 for it for the tow yard to get it out and bring it to my house. Fixed the brakes and a new battery and it was good to go. No other problem to date. Best suv ever.I have yet to get stuck with it in any trails or holes."
