"I am the 3rd owner and have never had a major problem. It is so sporty and strong. Lots of power. Very classy interior and a sleek exterior. Only problem in the 3 years we've had it was a leaky roof lift but was an easy fix. Not a very good long distant vehicle for comfort."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 100,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Killer price, very exotic good looks, very fun to"
Cons: "This is not a full on sports car, it is a GT."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I wanted to buy a Corvette, but they were too expensive. 1995 cars were over $8-10k with high miles. I found that Jags were undervalued and I investigated why. It appears they suffer from an old reputation of unreliability. Well warranted on cars built before the 90's. Ford bought Jag in '89 and the cars quickly became reliable. My car is a '98 and has 100k miles. I have had it over a year and have not been disappointed at all! This is a flat out beautiful car. I get comments almost every day. It is pretty fast (290hp), handles extremely well and gets about 17 miles city and 26 hwy. My car has almost all the original parts on it except normal maintenance parts, even original shocks! My car is an XK and I want to trade up to an XKR as soon as possible. Nothing like 400 hp and bigger brakes! I highly recommend these cars."

"My 2005 XK8 is, in my opinion, the most classy car on the road. Reliability has been great. Previous owners seem to tend to take exceptional care of these cars, but not always - so be careful if you are in the market for one. Enough power"

"Ed, per your problem with the headrest not working. Chances are the mechanical system (a beleive I was told it was a cable) has come detached. It happened to both my headrests when the car was 4 years old. A common problem (like the many Jags have)."
